first time in greece. took jfk delta non stop flight to athens and then directly to aegan air short 10am flight to santorini. easy connection nice airline. hotel picked us up at airport 15 minutes away. in oia, most hotels are these cave guest houses. we were deciding on katikis or perivolas. the gym was the deciding factor for us.... more

When we arrived at Perivolas and saw the view from the hotel, I was completely taken and it reminded me of the Hotel Caruso in Ravello, Italy, which has a similar infinity pool perched on the edge of a plunging cliff. Stayed for 7 nights in September. The hotel is delightful- my hubby says its a hobbit hotel- kept expecting Bilbo Baggins to come out of one of the rooms! I have stayed at both Perivolas (x2) and Katikies (x1). Both hotels are similarly priced and offer excellent food/service/ views.
