My girlfriend and I stayed at the Colden cabin for two nights and the overall experience was excellent. We were there to hike in the Adirondack park (Cabins are 5 min drive to Adirondack Loj). The cabin was clean and everything worked well: fridge, stove, toilet and shower. Wayne is a very nice guy. Would rent a cabin at Mt... More

We have stayed at the cabins a couple of times in the winter with a group. The cabins are small, but cozy. The owner/ manager was very accommodating. Since no one was using the big house, we were able to gather there and cook meals, etc. There is so much to do in and around Lake Placid any time of... More

We stayed in one of the studio cabins rather than the house. The cabin was extremely small (half the size of a typical Manhattan studio), but since it was for me and my now-husband it was fine. We stayed for three nights and I made soup on the stove and a few other things. It was well set-up with everything... More

My wife and I recently spent a week at the Mt Van Hoevenberg cabins while attending the Ironman in Lake Placid as support crew for a friend who was running the race. We loved it! The B&B description is not 100% accurate but the cabins had been recommended to us by a friend who had stayed there before. We stayed... More

It is not a B&B. Although the owner is known as a "guide", much of the website information is misleading and one wonders how many misadventures the owner has taken? Proximity to Mt. Van Hoevenberg cross country ski centre is correct; just a mile or so. If this (location) is what you want, this is the place to stay. If... More

Valentine's Day of 2010 was spent as a weekend trip up to Lake Placid. The plans on where to stay were made well over a month prior, having decided on the cabins based on two reviews and the lack of other reasonable lodging remaining in the area. We got there earlier than check in time but Wayne was very accommodating... More

We took our anniversary/New Year's Eve trip to the Adirondack mountains in New York and it was perfect. We were staying in the Mt. Van Hoevenberg cabins a few miles before the town of Lake Placid. We pulled up to the entrance, and as we approached the main cabin, the owner - Wayne - opened the door his inviting eyes... More

If you like quaint, rustic, quiet and cozy then this is a great place to stay. My girlfriend and I stayed only two nights but would gladly go back there. Although it was small, it had everything you needed and was very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the look of the inside and enjoyed feeding the horses on the neighbouring property.... More
