Walked in mid-week, no reservation. Family of 4, room was huge, nicely appointed. Staff A-1, food and service top-notch. Excellent location. We usually stay at a smaller boutique hotel in Lake Placid, but the price is almost double of High Peaks, could not justify the difference. We'll be back! More

From start to finish a top notch job by everyone, I found the Front desk staff to be welcoming and conversational, and my room WOW what a view and I am trying to figure out a way to get the king mattress in my car!!! I feel for the guest who may not have had a great experience, but my... More

We found great value in a 3 night 3 days of skiing/riding with breakfast included. We could have stayed closer to the mountain, but the short ride is scenic and filled with anticipation. The lake side location in Lake Placid was right in the midst of boutique style street side shopping, the arena, the speed skating oval and all the... More

I stayed at this hotel for one night while on business in Lake Placid and found the hotel to be a pleasurable experience. The rooms were spacious, clean and presented wonderful views of the town and mountains. The only complaint I could make was that I found the feature of having the door shared between the bathroom and closet slightly... More

Dear Ventureman83: Thank you for your wonderful comments regarding the High Peaks Resort. I am happy you enjoyed your time with us. If you are looking for an alternate location in Lake Placid, I would like to suggest our sister property the Lakeview Motor Inn. We booked the hotel for a conference through group rate. They said they do not have rooms in the resort and gave us a room in Lakeview Motor Inn but charged us the same price of the resort. The regular price of the Motel is 89 if I book it outside and they talk like they have given me discounted... More

We stayed for 4 nights in January 2012 while we were in Lake Placid to ski. The hotel is very nice and well appointed. We will most likely return in the future. Our only small concerns are the fact that the hotel bills itself as a high end resort, they even use the term "Service at it's Peak." However they... More

We've been to this hotel many times, and the conference facilities and accommodations are improving remarkably. Our 4th floor room had a lovely view across the lake to the mountains, and the bathroom had a deluxe shower. The location is convenient to shops and restaurants. Pet friendly, there's a bowl of dog treats at check-in! More

Hi there, My husband and I, about 6 other families and our entire hockey team stayed at this hotel for a hockey tournament from Jan 19-22. Upon arrival at 3 am as we had to drive from Ontario in a snow storm, the front desk was mildly polite, telling us to be quiet!! We were quiet - we were half... More

There are just not enough words to describe how great this place is. From check in, which was smooth and timely to check out and all in between. We were visiting Lake Placid for two reasons: to see our daughter play hockey in a local tournament and then stay on to tour and do some skiing. We were there a... More

We had a nice long weekend stay from 12/31 to 1/2 for my birthday. We had really unseasonable weather - super warm and no snow. The front desk is not very helpful - as my husband checked in first and I came with the kids afterwards. The clerk on duty claim that they don't have our reservation and I told... More

Dear HolidayFun2012: Thank you for letting me know of your experience with us during your December 2011 visit. I want to apologize for any misunderstanding that occurred at the front desk during check in and also about the in room guest amenity.
