If you want to go to Gambia do your research and pick your hotel for the holiday you want. I booked at Bakadaji Hotel as I wanted to experience the real gambia, and as it is gambian owned and the owner is also keeping a school going it would help gambians. Gambians are a poor people so I didn't expect... More

The friendly proprietor generously offered to pick my husband and I from the airport, but as we were arriving from Senegal, we were unable to coordinate this. Which is unfortunate, because it resulted in extreme hassles at the airport. We opted for a bungalow, without kitchenette. It was spacious, and still equipped with a mini-fridge.
