Sulfur in local water OK for shower, but brushing.....NOPE. Room had masking fragrance that I thought too strong so aired out room to reveal combo mildew/pet/smoke odor which I found less objectionable as long as the A/C was running to reduce humidity in room. Toilet had filling issues which were easily dealt with. Hotel was incredibly convenient to NY Thruway... more

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. The place is FILTHY!!!! Our room smelled like black mold, the bathtub was dirty, the pool was cloudy, all of the resin chairs outside were filthy!!!! It is horrible. I can't believe that people eat at the restaurant. I was so disgusted I slept in the car because it smelled soooo... more

The service was kind and super helpful. The staff opened the continental breakfast early for us since their set time of 8am was too late for us. The rooms were a bit run down, but gave a nostalgic edge, and they were clean. The view and the restaurant were lovely too. I would highly recommend this hotel! more

I was very surprised to see the changes since this place changed from skytop motel to it's current format. I don't even rocognize it. Plus I can not remember the last time I stayed in a pet friendly hotel that did not charge.. and it was clean. My room was large, on the first floor.. the climate control was good,... more

I was a little hesitant about staying at this hotel, due to a large number of very low ratings on this and several other travel sites. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. The Skytop Motel seems to have been there a while-- it reminded me of a 60's era motor hotel, although it has been updated. It sits on... more

We needed a hotel close to the Catskills for the holiday weekend, and found the Skytop Motel through Hotwire. It's in a great location, close to the Thuway, yet up on a hill so you can't hear it. The rooms are large, and the AC was on before we arrived. The only downside is that the interior walls are Sheetrock... more

My stay at the skytop was quite pleasant. The location is nice and quiet; away from the noisy roads. It was scary reading some reviews about the place but once I was there it was totally the opposite. There was also a clean outdoor pool, although the water was a bit frigid. The front desk were kind, and almost made... more

There was a national horse show in the area for the weekend of June 7th. Therefore, hotel rooms were scarce but, we were able to find a room at the Skytop Motel. The front clerk was very polite on phone and in person when we checked in at 11:30. The front desk closes at midnight so if we arrived later... more

I was very disappointed with the motel management and their flexibility. If you for any reason you have to cancel a reservation and you miss even one day in advance of policynotice, they charge a full day, absolutely no flexibility. They were sold out with a wait list in hand and did not care at all for my repeat business... more

I am an avid traveler and this was the worst hotel experience of my life!! I booked two nights at this hotel. As a solo female traveler, I liked the convenience of it to local highways. Well, this place was a complete DUMP! The rooms smelled horrible and everything was really old. I could've handled all that but the workers,... more
