What a camp - extremely friendly and caring hosts, perfectly trained and knowledgeable guides for game drives, bush walks und boat trips. Not to forget the delicious food! Wonderful sightings of hippos, elefants, crocs and birds right in front of our house. Lots of predators in the area! Defintively one of the best camps in southern Africa.

What a Special place to be! Warmhearted and perfect hosts, fantastic food and extremely good guides whose knowledge and safe guiding surprised us on bushwalks, canoeing and gamedrives. It is unbelievable the game we saw and all the interactions of the animals we were able to watch! It was worthwhile spending a whole week in this bush camp!

We loved our time at Old Mondoro. We consistently were impressed by the professional and knowledgable guides, and the hospitable staff made us feel very comfortable. The atmosphere at this camp was very relaxed with an emphasis on making sure the guests got to experience everything the camp had to offer, from close encounters with leopards, to catching tigerish on... Old Mondoro is an outstanding camp. It far exceeded our expectations, which were high given all the glowing reports that we had read about the camp. Hosts Jason and Michaela made us feel immediately welcome, and the guiding provided by Levy, Sebastian and Morat was the best that we have experienced on our many visits to Africa. The tent was... We have been on many Safaris, and experienced " rough bush" and "posh bush" (our preference being the former). This one gets it right, between the two. Excellent eye to detail, very comfortable accommodation without being completely over the top. Jason and Michaela, even at the end of the season exude a warm welcome and feeling of calm organisation, despite... More

Our stay at Old Mondoro gave us the great feeling of a bush camp. Lanterns, elephants in camp, campfires, bush lunches, hippos at night, and a small resident frog in the tent made for a wonderful experience. The Tigerfishing was exciting and the game drives very interesting thanks to the open landscape. Jason and crew made sure the camp lived... More

Our long planned trip to Africa lived up to all expectations. The last leg within Zambia (it is "the real africa") was a week in which we spent the first three days at Old Mondoro Bush Camp and the balance at Chiawa Camp. With only a few tents, Old Mondoro exudes intimacy - from the friendly and professional staff to... More

We were the first guests of the season and the only ones for our stay. Only 4 tents and a small dining/main area but all under a canopy of tress overlooking the expanse of the Zambezi. In early May the wildlife was a bit sparse but we had good elephant sightings and a leopard hunting at night plus porcupines ad... More

Old Mondoro provided a wonderful end to a fabulous holiday. From the moment Levy (safari guide) turned up to collect us at the Jeki airstrip until Jason (camp manager) returned us there 3 days later we had a fantastic time. We felt completely at home from the moment we arrived, there is nothing to fault about the camp at all,... More

We stayed at Old Mondoro in mid September. It is in a beautiful location overlooking the Zambezi. The accommodation is in a bush camp style and the "rooms" are well spaced apart and very private. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with a veranda overlooking the river. The vista from our room was fantastic and very busy with wildlife passing... More
