A truly magical camp with amazing staff. Our second time back was as memorable as the first. The attention to detail is second to none. The river is superb and the landscape gorgeous. Thanks to lynsey, grant and the rest of the team for sharing chiawa with our whole family!

We cannot say enough good things about our stay at Chiawa... a beautiful setting on the bank of the Zambezi River, excellent accommodations, a very professional staff, extremely knowledgable guides, good food, and close encounters with lions, elephants, hippos, and monkeys. We enjoyed the wide range of activities, including game drives, walking safaris, canoeing, and fishing, and appreciated all of... More

We have spent many wonderful nights in camps along the Zambezi river - lucky things we are but this was in a league of its own ! it wasn't just that the decor is beautifully done, or that the attention to detail included knowing your preferred tipple, or that after each excursion a smiling staff member greeted you with a... We have visited all of the major parks in Zambia and chose Chiawa for our final safari. What a marvelous experience! The management at Chiawa anticipated every detail and gave a true personal touch to our stay. The accommodations are truly top-notch. There's nothing more amazing than watching elephants walk along the riverside as you bathe or brush your teeth... More

Whilst it would be easy to gush with superlatives in relation to the beauty of the setting, the wildlife and the river, what made the trip so special was the genuine warmth and care we received from everyone we encountered at the camp, not just towards us, but also towards their environment and the wildlife that they share it with.... I had te most amazing experience of my life at chiawa camp in zambia. from the accommodation thro' to the unbeleivable high standard of the food and the "nothing was too much" attitude of all the people running the camp, everything was 5 star, if there was 10 star then this is the place. It was a trip you only... More

Having lived in Zambia, and the Lower Zambezi for almost a year, I wanted to treat my parents to Chiawa Camp when they visited me in July - we stayed at Chiawa for 2 nights, having already been elsewhere in the Lower Zambezi region for a week. The Chiawa staff were amazing - treating us to a very warm welcome,... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Chiawa in September,2011. This was the last camp of a 3 week safari in Namibia, Botswana and Zambia. We must admit we were both a little overdosed on safari camps after 3 weeks but once we were on the boat for the 20 minute ride to Chiawa we relaxed and knew this... More

Thanks to Sacha, Tam and the entire crew at Chiawa we had a great fishing and game viewing experience. We enjoyed the roaming elephants in camp, the marvelous leopard and lion sightings and the peaceful lunch cruise down the river, and of course the big Tigerfish caught on the fly. Everything about the camp is wonderful and we are looking... More

Under new management in 2011 as the former managers, Sacha and Tam, at the excellent Beho Beho in the Selous, TNZ, have taken over. Lovely elevated tented rooms overlooking the Zambezi with elephants frequently wandering by. Food very good. For my wife's birthday they specially organised candlelight dinner on a boat moored out in the middle of the river. Boat,... More
