Visited at the end of the wet season in April and had a fantastic trip. Game drives were brilliant -David was such a knowledgeable guide - and elephants, hippos and monkeys around the grounds just add to the atmosphere. Good home cooking and excellent friendly service from all the staff - we can't wait to go back.

Hi Thank you for visiting us in Mfuwe and for the great feedback. It is always lovely to have a family with such a keen interest in the wildlife and such a good eye for birds....over hundred species in just a couple of days, is our record! More

We stayed at Marula lodge for 4 nights in April Green season and had an amazing trip. We were very lucky in that we were between 2 big party bookings so we had the place to ourselves ....our very own resort!! The situation is idyllic...right on the banks of the river so all you hear during the day is occasional... More

Marula lodge has a wonderful setting, which regularly sees large wildlife wandering through the grounds. Jenny and Mike could not have been more warm, welcoming and informative. The lodge has the feel of being in a family home and has all the facilities you could need. Excellent experience all round.

We spent xmas in this lovely family owned lodge ... Marula turned what could have been a nightmare in a memorable adventure for us when we got stuck in the middle of the jungle nearby on our way there without cell network or any form of civilisation for over 24 hours.... To cut it short, they sent a rescue team... More

We travelled as a group of 4 couples. We were in Africa for our son's wedding to his Malawian wife in Lilongwe and we took in a safari in the week before the wedding. The safari was arranged with Land and Lake Safari's who took us to Marula Lodge from Lilongwe in Malawi and returned us after we had had... More

A very friendly and hospitable place with a great team of helpful people led by Jenny and Mike. Marula is at the budget end of the price spectrum, but still has all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. There is a difference between inexpensive and cheap and Marula gets it right. Our shower required a certain amount of... More

We have just returned from the most relaxing, yet exhilirating holiday, we have had for a very long time, at the gorgeous Marula Lodge, right on the banks of the South Luangwa River. Marula Lodge is the real deal. You are right in the middle of the bush. The animals are constantly around you. Elephants crossing the lawns EVERY day.... More

We stayed at Marula Lodge for 4 days. The location is wonderful, separated from the South Luanga Park only by a river, which many animals can cross. We saw elephants in the grounds several times, and a hippo once. The park has a wide spread of game, and we were lucky enough to see lions three times, and also three... More

We stayed with Jenny and Mike at Marula Lodge in June after finding their flyer at a guesthouse in Malawi! They organised our transfer from Lilongwe to the lodge at and we stayed for two nights with two game drives! It was a very reasonable price and we had an excellent time, we cannot recommend this place enough!! Situated on... More
