The setting for Mountain Homestead is great: the view is amazing and the lodge looks fantastic. It must be noted, however, that the final part of the road is in bad condition, so it will take a while to get to Sesriem gate even though kilometric distance is not large. The service, on the other hand, has been largely disappointing.... More

Truly amazing and romantic place, which is now called Mountain Homestead. If you can - stay there for at least two nights to enjoy the sunset from the plunge pool. It's a real luxury to dive into cool water after a hot day in Sussuvlei. It's really worth to wake up at 5 am and drive to the park gates... More

The Lodge is now (August 2010) called the Mountain Homestead Lodge and is managed by the same owners as the nearby Desert Homestead Lodge. On the plus side, the lodge's setting is superb, rooms are basically spotless and comfortable for a remote lodge setting and include a very small plunge pool. Tours and guides are excellent and very individual, and... More

This was one of 5 'camps' we stayed at whilst on a 3 week trip to Namibia and South Africa. It was the best .It has a stunning location with the lounge deck overlooking a plain with hills in the background. It's about 40 minutes drive to the Dunes which are tremendous particularly at sunrise. The accomodation is great with floor to ceiling... Don't come here for the food - its not their specialty. The guided walks through Naukluft and the dunes are exceptional (especially with Angula our guide) and the staff hospitality is among the most genuine and warm I've experienced. Our view of the green desert from hut #1 was stunning. More

The staff were very warm and friendly and the setting is really spectacular. The food unfortunately was below our expectations and when we were there it had been raining so moths getting in the room at night was an issue. Also huge kamikaze grasshoppers would fly at you and cling to your clothes. The dunes were amazing though. More

Stayed at this camp for 3 nights. It's in the spectacular setting of Sossusvlei Desert region. There were 9 bungalows, each with a good sized deck area and a small plunge pool. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Sitting out on the deck to view the sunrise and sunsets was truly special. It's one of the most serene places... More
