Thinking of Etendeka makes me want to crawl back to Namibia! As already mentioned by other reviewers, the Camp is in the Etendeka Tourist Concession which comprises an area of 50 000 ha. in the foothills of the Grootberg (part of Northern-Damaraland). The 10 tents are situated in the midst of flat-topped hills and plains strewn with beautiful weathered boulders.... More

Experience a pure respect and love of nature, a unique experience. We stayed 2 nights and felt like we had been there a week, it was so hard to leave the place. The food is delicious, a pleasure to share it with our hosts talking about nature, Namibians etc. The time stops when you have a walk there and get... More

Pure love and respect for nature and people, we've learned so many things, discussing at dinner with our hosts, taking our time to have a guided walk in that amazing place. The food was delicious, best bread ever. We stayed 2 nights and we had the impression that is was at least a week, we were so sad to leave.... More

I'm going to share a secret. Etendeka is THE most beautiful place on earth. You sleep in luxury tents which are totally integrated with nature in a huge private nature concession. The food is delicious, abundant and very fresh. We got fresh salad every day, which is a real effort knowing it's a day’s drive to buy it! Then there... More

I am in two minds about this review as anyone not staying here when in Namibia is seriously missing out, but at the same time I would like it to stay relatively unknown. We spent 3 nights here with our adult sons and loved it. The scenery is stunning and there were many more animals than I was expecting, plus... More

Etedenka Mountain Camp (in Damaraland) is THE most magnificent place I have ever stayed at during my many travels in Namibia. The camp location is breathtaking between the flat topped mountains in the middle of a huge nature concession. The drive to the camp through the concession is a magical 4x4 drive of 1.5 hrs. You pass through the most... More

Pricey tents in the middle of nowhere. But luxurious tents in the middle of pristine, beautiful Damaraland countryside. The food is superb, the activities (morning walk, afternoon game drive) are great, and best of all is Dennis, the boss. His wry, dry wit and his passion for this land which he knows so intimately make him a pleasure to talk... More

This was the high point of our visit. And even though beforehand the prospect of 3 nights with bucket showers palled, in the ends none of us wanted to leave. Dennis is a consummate professional, acting not just as expedition leader whether on foot or by jeep, but also as a lunch and especially dinner hosts; we coincided with Florentine... More

Tented solar powered camp in the middle of a concession the size of Austria. Nearest petrol station or shop 5 and a half hours drive away. If you like wilderness and want to experience the bush you'll love this place. It's on a 600 million year old lava plateau that has been eroded into amazing formations. You share the land... More
