A clean well presented hotel located on the banks of the Thames with easy access to the town and riverside walks. The rooms were clean and equiped with everything neaded. The food was good in the restraunt overlooking the Thames. This is an ideal base for visiting London and the surrounding area. more

Service is quite poor compared to other Mercure hotels (worldwide), but - when you chose this hotel as your base for London trips and you get the promotion rates - it's acceptable. Breakfast is 'decent' (i.e. you can enjoy a typical English breakfast with ham&eggs, beans, tea and orange jam). Selection of ales at the bar is poor if you... more

We stayed at this hotel with some friends for one night in September. We wanted a place to stay the night before a day at Thorpe Park. I booked two double riverside classic rooms with hotels.com for £55 per room. Pros Nice room with modern decoration Comfortable bed Clean bathroom Hot, powerful shower Fantastic breakfast buffet Near to Thorpe Park... more

Stayed here for my partner's graduation from nearby university. The hotel is right on the Thames and right across the street from the Staines bus stop and a few minutes away from the train station (trains are about 20 minutes to London Waterloo). Staines' High Street is also a few blocks away so this is as central as you can... more

My husband and I have used this hotel for some years now, we know Staines very well and its a handy place for accessing areas of London by train. In the beginning it was very good, but the last 3 times we have visited have been gradually worse. This time we arrived in a mini heat-wave to find the room... more

Had been driving for two hours looking for a reasonable priced hotel or b&b all around windsor, then kept driving up to Staines when we saw the Mecure. It was around 9.30pm and we were getting desperate, so were very surprised when we were told a double room was 70 pounds. We parked our car at the front of the... more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during Royal Ascot, it was a good base with Ascot only being a few miles away. The hotel is sited right next to the Thames and very close to the shopping centre in Staines. On arrival the check in was swift and the rooms were equipped with iron, trouser press and a... more

We have just returned from a 1 night stay at the Mercure Staines, on the way to visit relatives. I booked last minute over the internet for £90 including breakfast. On arrival the car park was full but we managed to squeeze in ! ( there is a public car park nearby). I had requested a river view, no smoking... more

1 Jun 2009 | Trip type: Family

Stayed at this hotel when visiting family in the area recently. This is a nice hotel and the location is fantastic, they have a nice area outside at the back of the hotel to have drinks and a bite to eat while watching the boats go by on the thames. The rooms were nice, and as clean as can be,... more
