We stayed here during a Sahara desert trip we took out of our resort of Port El Kantaoui. Upon arriving at the hotel and looking round the large reception area and swimming pool it felt like this hotel had been closed for 20 years and had just reopened for our visit. It felt like it was in need of a... More

we stayed at this hotel as part of our tour of tunisia. The hotel staff were really friendly and were great with my little girl. There was even wifi internet - something that wasn´t available anywhere else we went in tunisia - so I could get in touch with the real world again! the food at the hotel was so... More

We arrived in this 3-star hotel in Douz in the evening after an exciting camel ride in the desert and left it at 3 am in order to catch the sunrise at a salty lake. The hotel lobby looked not bad in general, but we have been unpleasantly surprised by the quality of the room. It badly needed renovation, the... More

Stayed at hotel last week during Ramadan. The hotel is quite basic the rooms just have a bed no tv ,radio or tea and coffee. The food was ok and the pool was good. We arrived at 18.00 after just doing the camel ride in the sahara the temperature was 42. We were hot a jumped stright in the pool.... More

We stayed one night with a travel group. Although 4 stars claimed, it borders on 3. Food diversity and preparation are not up to scratch. Needs to an overhaul ....

This is a nice hotel to stay when you are doing a trip to the tunisian desert, as it is located in Douz, also called the "Door of the desert". It is a simple hotel with a nice pool to relax after a tiring but enjoyable day. Once in Douz make sure you do a camel trip in the desert.... More

We too stayed here as part of the Sahara Explorer, orgainsed by TTS through Thomas Cook. After a long day on a coach, we'd been on the go since 6 a.m., and some people had started ealier than that, all we wanted was a shower, a hot meal and a comfy bed. Well we got none of those. The bedrooms... More

We stayed here during an overnight stop on an excursion booked to the nearby Sahara. The place was terrible, by far the worst hotel we've ever had the misfortune to stay in. The room was shabby, wires hanging out of the walls which were themselves disintegrating. No hot water, hairdryer, TV, radio or kettle - essentially the room ws four... More

Granted it was my 1st (and only) stay in Douz, but my experience of the Tuareg was perfectly fine. Minutes on foot from the desert, a short ride from downtown Douz, wasn't as pricey as other hotels on the strip, beautiful decor & the pool was excellent. I would recommend the Tuareg to anyone passing through.

We stayed at the Touareg for an overnight stay during our safari. The room, although it had a nice balcony, was tatty and the carpet was threadbare. The bathroom had bugs in and the showerhead was broken. The pool smelt stangnant and attracted lots of flies, cloudy water and unsuprisingly, no swimmers. On awaking the next day I was covered...
