Our daughter is in the Cooperstown Graduate Program and we decided to take a long Holiday weekend trip in mid-October to visit her and to see the area for the first time. The Barnwell Inn is THE place to stay in Cooperstown. We recently spent 3 days there for a long weekend/getaway. The Inn is within walking distance to downtown Cooperstown, including the Baseball Hall of Fame. We stayed in the Burgundy Suite, which has a small sitting room separate from the bedroom. This was our second visit to the Barnwell Inn. Mark and Tara welcomed us back to what seemed like our second home. They remembered details from our previous visit. We have enjoyed stays at several B&Bs and a couple hotels in the Cooperstown area but the Barnwell Inn is a personal favorite by far. We visited Cooperstown in the "off season," when the Barnwell Inn is one of the few places open. I'm glad! We got a room in a beautiful home with warm, hosts, a beautiful sunny room, and some of the best breakfasts I've ever enjoyed. Highly recommended. more
If you can get in at this place you'll be lucky. The couple no longer need to advertise and have a 98% rate of returning guests. The place was great, the hosts wonderful, the rooms terrific and the food OUTSTANDING. I think we paid 130$ a night. more
