Our stay at Ulusaba Safari Lodge was the highlight of our honeymoon trip. Everyone at Ulusaba was so kind and helpful throughout our stay. Every single one of our game drives was outstanding. Big thanks to both Peter and Respect who made the drives so spectacular. In addition, the accommodations and food were top notch. We cannot wait to return one day!

Another fantastic experience that managed to better the last which of itself surpassed the first which was quite magical. Quite simply the whole team - each and every single one richly deserve every award/accolade that’s going.

This is one special place, the wildlife is amazing and the care and attention of the staff was fantastic. We saw the big five almost every day but also lots and lots of other fantastic animals, trees and vegetation. A brilliant experience in a 5 star setting.

Our first safari with a group of 8 friends. The property location and service is exceptional. Special mention to our Ranger & Tracker, Vincent & Don who made our experience unforgettable. Their love, respect and knowledge of the bush and animals was beautiful. We will never forget them.

Back again after such a magical trip last year. We were worried the magic might fade after such an epic visit last year but it’s gotten even stronger. The team at Ulusaba are the ultimate dream team. Frodo, thank you for everything. You are the most amazing host and welcomed us with open arms like we’d never been away. And Dani, you make us smile and laugh and your company is infectious. What an asset to Ulusaba you are 😁. We loved our wine cellar evening, you really made it 📱😆. David and Stu. Thank you 🙏🏼. What an awesome duo you are. Unbelievable tracking and such knowledge between you both. The wild dogs absolutely made our visit this time. The last morning drive was spectacular (amongst them all)!!!! And David, the moving coffee/drinks station after our bush walk will go down in history 🤣. In addition to our incredible breakfast picnic; thank you so much Stu 🤩. Not many places we’d return to but this is one of them. We cannot wait to return, yet again, in 2025.…

Visited ulusaba recently and I don’t often do reviews but feel I must to relate how good this place is The first game drive led by Sipho who was out tracker and Brogan who was our ranger really was magical , it is my bucket list and my expectations were far lower than what I was about to witness , we seen 4 of the big 5 on first night which was just unbelievable , I have too many videos and pictures to post but the memories will be with me forever , the room was nice and clean and a maaaaasive comfy bed , the staff all went out their way to make our stay special and we were always met with a smile whatever time of day or night it was. The only setback I would say and it wouldn’t stop me going back was the food , I am not a fussy eater so I ate everything but other guests and my wife were a bit more fussy and didn’t love it , but as I said it wouldn’t stop me going back The lodge we were in was up on the top of a hill so the views were unbelievable especially first thing when sun coming up and no matter what time of day / night you see animals down at the water hole beneath us , we stayed 4 nights and bounced out of bed every morning at 5am for game drives with Sipho and Brogan No questions were left unanswered and the knowledge from both was really unbelievable (some people would say that’s their job) as were the stories from them , they both went out their way to make our drives memorable and that they definetly were. I didn’t think communal dining would be for me and my wife but this also was fantastic and staff made it even more special When we were out we seen other lodges which had more people on the jeep but at Ulusaba there is 6 max which makes things more comfortable and more VIP I would say. We were very fortunate to have 2 couples with us every day who made our stay memorable and more enjoyable than I ever thought possible so to them …. We thank you xx We witnessed so many things to mention a few …….. in the middle of a herd of elephants having breakfast for around 10 minutes eating off their favourite trees Leopard up a tree eying up the close by impala for her dinner , then trying to get closer but the impala were too clever Later on the night drive the same leopard was chased up a tree by the “alpha” male leopard , we all watched in wonder as she made her way down the tree , ran around before running back up the tree to stay away from the same leopard Breakfast in the bush which was special and unexpected Some drinks in the bush “a sundowner or a drinkypoo” as brogan would put it , some nights with some large animals close by for company although Sipho was making sure we were all safe Seeing 2 male lion brothers stroll past our jeep happy as could be as they had stole some leopards kill and had ate it before we arrived We also viewed a pride of lions with 2 males , 5 females and 10 cubs present A 5m long croc and a gang of young hyena This place is magical , my review is not doing it justice I would like to thank every member of staff but I am hopeless at remembering names …… just as well they are better than me…

We stayed at Rock Lodge for 4 nights in November 2023. The facilities and safari are exceptional. Our guide and driver for the safari drives were John and Brandon. I can't recommend them highly enough. Their knowledge and expertise is world class. We saw all the animals and more than I could ever have hoped for. Seeing the animals engage in their natural habitat and having the time to take it all in without lots of other people around made it a very personal and fantastic experience. The views from Rock Lodge are superb, and you can take in the views and watch the animals as they go about the watering holes below. All the staff were very welcoming and gave superb service. i can't rate this place highly enough.

Dear Kategildersleeve40, Thank you so much for your review. I’m thrilled to hear your stay at Rock Lodge hit the highs, and John and Brandon delivered as guides. Their expertise and knowledge, like all our guides and trackers, help to make the safari experience a truly exceptional one. The views from Rock Lodge are so special. There are few other camps that can match them – for me, unlike any other in the world. We hope you’ll come and visit us again. Have a magic day,

Mango and Eric are something special. Their wisdom and experience mixed with their unique personality makes these individuals a real credit to VLE. They are making dreams come true and turning holidays into unforgettable experiences. Each game drive Eric asked what animal we wanted to see, and within 20 minutes of being on the drive he would deliver. I know a lot of people who come on safaris don’t often get to see the big 5, but we were able to spot all 5 on every single game drive!! Once in a life time type of holiday all thanks to Eric and Mango!

We had an incredible experience at Ulusaba. From the moment we landed at Ulusaba airport we knew that it was going to be special. We saw the big 5 and much much more. Our favourite viewing was the wild dogs - what really made the experience special was spending the days tracking and viewing with Brad and Herald, their skills and knowledge on everything in the bush were mindblowing. All the staff provided superb service - we were looked after and well fed / watered throughout the day. We stayed in Elephant 2 lodge, it was a lovely room and we often saw animals passing by (elephants, hyenas, baboons). The days start early at 5am. Between drives we'd recommend spending time at the watering hole to view the animals. We were apprehensive about spending so much on a trip but we have returned home knowing that we experienced a trip of a lifetime. My wife had a tear in her eye as we were waved off when taking off from their airstrip. …
