My husband and I stayed at the Motel Safari for one night. The decorating is modern despite the "old" look of the motor court. The motel has redecorated but kept true to the 1950's. The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the linens very nice. The shower was very good with a multi spray head.... More

We read reviews ahead of time before driving to Motel Safari. It is what everyone praised it for. We were really impressed with the room from the comfortable beds, thick towels, HDTV, and clean comfortable room. The outdoor patio was neat with Burma Shave type signs. The nearby recommended restaurants were great also. We would highly recommend this motel -... More

Chose this motel based on ratings on TripAdvisor. Definite 50's feeling everywhere in the room. Very neat and clean. Friendly greeting upon signing in. Had everything we needed in a compact room. Appreciated the pillows and bedding.

Room was very clean and smelled great. Bed was very comfy and the little pieces to show the history of the hotel was neat. Manager came in and showed us how to use the remote A/C unit and showed us how to get on the internet (free). Still had all the old advertisements and photos but with modern touches like... More

Friendly welcome, clean room, good bed, pillows, towels and all at a reasonable price. We arrived on a beautiful evening and sat out on the patio with a glass of wine. The patio was swept and the tables and chairs were spotless. We'll be back, these people really do try harder!!

We had stayed at the Blue Swallow and enjoyed it very much. Since they were full, we stayed at the Motel Safari. Retro but doesn't feel old. Very fresh, very clean. Great value. Comfortable bed and bedding. Great night's sleep. Now, if they could get a good restaurant in town...

Our room was great and I highly recommend the motel. However, we were a bit disappointed by a lukewarm welcome from the manageress (in comparison to the friendliness at some other Route 66 motels, e.g. Wagon Wheel Motel in Missouri, Saddle Ranch in Santa Fe, etc. all of which were outstanding). However, it didn't detract much from a very pleasant... More

This place is in the middle of nowhere . We stayed when we were doing Route 66 . Its everything you would expect for a motel . Rooms were clean so happy with that . Town is small . It was 105 degrees out when we stayed and the owner came over and asked us why we were sunbathing in... More

After many nights in sterile motels, this was a real treat. The rooms are small, but lovingly remodeled just enough--new carpet, paint, beds, tv, etc. But otherwise, it is just like it was in the 60's. Reading the story of the motel, only three owners before current owners, and much of the furniture is original. Obviously, the motel was well... More
