Great location near art studios and other shopping; 20 minutes from Ski Valley. Comfortable rooms (should have been at better rate), in-room fireplace was nice. Very, very large tub. Very comfy bed. Terrific indoor pool--unlike any others I've seen. Pool table once owned by Minnesota Fats is worth seeing. Then there were the downsides: served sour milk with Sunday morning... More

If you are traveling in winter and want to count on heat in your room, or shampoo in the bathroom, I would suggest staying somewhere else. We stayed four nights at a significantly discounted rate that my wife found. Things at the beginning weren't too bad. The room was cold, but the porter assured us he had turned the heat... More

This hotel knocks it out of the park. It is simply stunning. I was amazed at our room- we were in the Quanah Parker suite (WOW) I didn't want to leave! We enjoyed a nice dinner in the hotel as well. The "flirtini" is an awesome drink on the menu, at the hotel bar, should you require a yummy for your... More

I don’t give 5 ratings easily. If there is a hotel that gets a 5+ it is this one. We visited in January 23-25, 2012 and found hotel to be top notch in every respect. We were too tired from skiing at nearby Taos Ski Valley and ate dinner and breakfast every day at the hotel. Breakfast was consistently excellent... More

Overall, we enjoyed a terrific stay at this resort. We traveled with two young kids, and while the staff does not specifically cater to children, ours loved the unique breakfast restaurant (trees, aquarium, waterfall), the beautifully designed indoor pool area, and the grounds. I would also recommend exploring the second floor above the entrance; we had fun playing pool in... More

We just spend Saturday night at the resort and really enjoyed it. The customer service is wonderful. All of the staff is very pleasant and attentive. We had drinks and a light meal at the Anaconda bar and it was very good. The mushroom enchiladas were great. The room was very clean and nicely decorated (we had King bed in... More

Spent four wonderful days here and it was an absolute pleasure. The hotel and it's grounds are beautiful. We were fortunate enought to get a great deal on one of the native American suites, and I would highly recommend them for their comfort and setting. The suites all share access to a pond with small waterfalls, so the relaxing sound... More

I stayed at El Monte Sagrado for a ski-weekend with my family in the Taos Mountain Room. Last time I stayed here was 2 years ago, before El Monte became a Marriott property, and unfortunately the corporate influence is apparent. Gone are the special touches like local-made luxury toiletries, Alora diffusors all over the property, and the down comforters, luxury... More

The El Monte Sagrado resort is a beautiful property located just a couple of blocks from the historic area of Taos. The resort has unique southwestern charm, with theme-decorated rooms. Even the smaller suites are comfortably sized for a couple. We had breakfast and dinner at the resort 1 day and thought the food was excellent. We also had a... More

The grounds, buildings, and rooms of El Monte Sagrado are unmatched by any hotel in which I have ever stayed in the under $500 per night price range. Taos is laid back, so some travelers who have complained that enough special attention was not lavished upon them at El Monte Sagrado, may have expected a different experience. However, I have...
