No review that I write will do this heavenly place justice that it deserves. I have visited and stayed at Londolozi on several occasions and do freely admit that I am loyal to this reserve. I have stayed in the other camps on previous visits and was very keen to stay at Varty on this trip. Flew in to Skukuza , the quaint airport in the bush and was met by Guide Dan who quickly whisked me to the waiting car and so began my return to bush with the drive from the airport to the camp (roughly an hour) . The drive to camp itself was a game drive of note seeing Giraffe , Elephant , wildebeest and many various antelope along the way . Greeted warmly by the camp managers while my luggage was swiftly taken to my home in the bush (Chalet no.8) . Hastily ate a delicious beef salad which was so flavorful and colourful before getting ready for the afternoon game drive with my guide/ ranger Nick Tennick and Tracker Joy and two lvely other guests from Istanbul , Turkey who were on their honeymoon.I have to credit Nick and joy for making me feel that I was NOT the spare wheel and keeping me included and offering to have dinner with me as I was a solo traveller. So kind. Needless to say, after first game drive together our Landy was firmly a team and so we ate dinners together for the remainder of our stay, recounting our sightings and incredible experiences each night over drinks and dinner. The entire Varty camp had undergone a renovation since my last visit 8 years prior and it exuded a subtle luxury that one can only experience in the bush . The rooms /chalets were beautifully appointed with everything one could want or need in them. Each one had its own plunge pool which was a god send with the intense heat we were experiencing there. The food at every meal was delicious and creatively plated . I think we can all agree that we were pampered thoroughly by everyone at the camp and showered with kindness and generosity for our entire time there. The wildlife viewing as always at Londolozi did not disappoint, seeing the elusive Cheetah , Leopards, Lions , elephant and hundreds of other wild animals and birds. As always when it was time to leave . I felt like I was leaving the family home after a good warm visit and was pretty sad about going. A trip to South Africa for me is incomplete without a visit to Londolozi and this time was as good as the previous trips. What makes Londolozi special is the connection with the amazing , kind staff and great other guests . I will most certainly be back in future. Thanks for another amazing African experience Varty Camp team.

Londolozi was special from the moment we were picked up at Skakuza airport. From the very start, the staff learned and referred to you by name. The accommodations are large, comfortable, and provide you with anything and everything you could possibly want. If you don’t see it, just ask and it will magically appear. Will, Sam, and Dom run a first class operation. Our butler (their term) Innocent, was everywhere. Then there are the safaris. We saw everything we ever dreamed of. Kelsey and Richard, our ranger and tracker respectively, were absolutely extraordinary. They were engaging, entertaining, knowledgeable and downright relentless in their pursuit of animals. I have no idea what more they could have possibly done to make our stay special. Londolozi Varty Camp exceeded our expectations. I can’t wait to go back.

Londolozi stay was a 5-star experience. From the moment you entered the property, every staff member was dedicated to providing an unforgettable experience. The accommodations were quite comfortable and you would even see hippos and giraffes grazing right from your camp. The drives were amazing and we saw more than I even imagined. Anyone traveling with food allergies know how challenging that can be. They made it incredibly easy with gourmet level gf options right along side everyone else's. I did email ahead with my dietary needs which I think helped so there was no delay at mealtime. I would recommend Londolozi to anyone with or without dietary restrictions looking for the ultimate safari experience! Heidi

We stayed at Varty Camp for the third time last October. Despite the less than favorable weather conditions, our expectations were not disappointed: excellent welcome, superlative game drives, top food. Sighting of all the big five and even more. We were rewarded by being assigned to Melvin and Milton. Every return is like feeling at home. Our thoughts are already turning to a possible return to this magnificent place. Marco & Anna.

I returned to Londolozi for a 2nd time as I wanted to share the magic with my mother, such was the impact of my first visit in 2020. It was just incredible. The warmth and class of the Londolozi team is in a league of its own. Domenic and Reece ensure every detail is attended to - nothing is too much trouble ; whilst Thembi’s smile and care ensured that every delicious meal was a joy. Then there were the drives. Every day brought extraordinary sightings of cats,as hoped. But what stands out about the game drives is the enthusiasm, energy and drive (!) that our guide Shadrack and tracker Gosham put into ensuring we had a fantastic time in the vehicle, no matter what. When people bring their passion to work, it really shows. We felt truly connected to our Londolozi family and will return.

From the moment we arrived Dom, Will, Raen, Alfie and Judas made us feel special and cared about every detail of our Londalozi experience. The animal sightings were superb as well as Alfie andJudas’s knowledge of the bush. Add to that the exquisite food, accommodations (rooms 1&2), along with the healing house treatments and we were pampered until our last second. We hope to visit again like so many other guests that we met have done.

We stayed in Varty camp room 5. The room had a private deck with lounge chairs, a covered seating area, couch and private pool. It has a shaded view of the Sand river. You can see wildlife from the deck. The bedroom had a king bed with shower and gorgeous tub. It’s Londolozi, and it was spectacular. The accommodations, food and staff are all superb. It’s truly a next level / white glove experience. We stayed here for a few nights during a tenth anniversary tour of South Africa and highly recommend it to couples. One night the staff ran a bubble bath for us in our room, including rose petals and candles, while we were dining. It was a very special experience to come back to on our anniversary night! The entire experience felt very unique and private, as we only saw four or five other guests at any given time. The game drives are truly stellar and our ranger (Dan) and tracker (Freddy) were incredibly instructive. Freddy took time during breaks to show me how he reads the game tracks, explaining the different animal movements we could see in the grass and sand. I’ll never forget our visit!

Londolozi is one of those places that revitalizes your soul. There is an unspoken dialogue between you and the bush and the magic of the entire Londolozi experience makes that happen! This was a return visit for me and although much shorter than my stay in 2013, it was just as incredible! It was wonderful to see the refurbishments at the different camps, hear about plans for further lodge improvements and learn more about their Healing Center which is new since 2013.

Words cannot describe our time at Londolozi. It was a dream hotel with an A++ staff! First, when you arrive the entire group of staff taking care of you over the duration of your stay greets you as your car pulls up. The next game drive was leaving in an hour which we did not want to miss so they made sure to get us fed quickly and gave us a quick rundown of our stay. Jenna - the camp manager was unbelievable. She was always on top of her stuff, she knew the meaning of 5 star hospitality. The lodge and rooms at the Varty camp (and all of the other camps) are out of a luxury design magazine. Sitting in these areas to dine or read a book between drives is so surreal. They are extremely accommodating - some days after the AM drive we wanted breakfast or lunch back on our deck at our private chalet while taking a dip in the pool and they will arrange that for you. Everything you could want - they will coordinate. I have heard they write down what previous guests enjoy while staying there and the next time they come, they will make sure to have it for them. It's the "Londolozi Way". Every morning I asked for green tea and when I went to the lodge before the drive - it was there just for me. It truly is all about the little things and the incredible attention to detail that make this place a remarkable hotel. You go out on two game drives a day, we enjoyed going off roading to track down the big 5! I want to give a huge shoutout to our Ranger and Tracker - Patrick and Darence- what a team! They were meant to be doing this. Patrick is so fun and professional and provided a wealth of information and Darence is so kind and great at what he does! I looked forward to going out on our daily drives with them. If you are lucky enough to get Patrick as your Ranger - he is also a very good singer!! How can I forget the morning coffee/tea breaks and the sundowners aka happy hour in the bush with our group. When you come back from your drives, they have cold towels to help refresh you. For dinner each night, it is a surprise which I LOVED. The first night was in the burma - situated around a fire pit and lanterns all over - out of a storybook! We hung out with the staff after dinner just talking around the fire with some of the best wine, it was a night to remember. The next night was dinner in the bush and the third night - we had a private dinner at our chalet. We went back to our room after our afternoon drive and there were bubbles in the tub with champagne, candles, rose petals and a table set up on our deck. They honestly were all days/nights I could never forget. I have traveled all around the world and stayed at some very nice hotels and nothing holds a candle to Londolozi. Once again, the gourmet food, the entire amazing staff, attention to detail, lodging decor + cleanliness, etc. I feel I made friends there, they weren't just staff. I cannot wait to go back one day and take my entire family. I am so happy a place like this exists.
