My dogs and I spent 2 nights at Casa Escondida and loved it. We rented the Casita and the first night were the only ones at the B & B. The second night there was only one couple with us. The facilities are VERY comfortable and the hospitality was warm. The breakfasts were large and terrific. I did have a... More

This is not actually a review, but more a response to the previous review from "Travel-Aficionado777" from Albuquerque, NM. They refer to "run down looking mobile homes" on the way to the B&B and that "it's not located in the best surroundings." Yes, there are mobile homes in the area, just as there are in any rural area in practically... More

Thank you! I too love Chimayo and the genuine people of this area. I've found them to be warm and welcoming. We have hosted many visitors that were staying with us, with the intent of relocating to the area. We hope you will be one of them! It is true that there are some "trailer homes" in the area (although... More

Don't let the run down looking mobile homes on your way to this B&B fool you. Once you get to your destination, this B&B is truly a hidden gem. Yes it's not located in the best surroundings but all of that is quickly forgotten when you pull in and get to your room. We stayed in what they called the... More

Thank you. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay (and the glass of milk in the middle of the night). Keep in mind that we are always happy to provide a second helping of anything that we are serving for breakfast. Just ask. It's not a problem. More

If you are looking for a quiet, interesting, beautiful place to stay a lttle off the beaten path in New Mexico, Chimayo is a great choice, and Casa Escondida is the place to stay. We were debating between Casa Escondida and the Hacienda Rancho del Chimayo based on the guide books and online reviews, and we were thrilled when we... More

Thank you. We try to offer a quiet and secluded place that is very authentic, yet still offer the amenites that most guests seek (hearty breakfast; free wi-fi; daily paper; cozy robes in the rooms; outdoor hot tub; etc). I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay. More

Poor reviews were obviously written by people who are used to Hiltons and Denny's. First, Casa Escondida is not hard at all to find IF one follows the accurate directions on the website. Secondly, the bathrooms are spotless and the fixtures in tune with the age of the facility; they are not new, chrome and plastic and there's no blaring... More

Thank you. We understand that we are not able to be a perfect fit for 100% of the traveling population. If you are seeking a "Marriott" experience, then we may not be the best fit for your travel needs. However, if what you are seeking is a quiet, secluded location (that is TV-free) with nice views of the foothills, great... More

We stayed 2 nights in this well run, old fashioned New Mexico bed and breakfast. It is a lovely, tranquil setting in the country. We booked the Casita, which has a bedroom, kiva fireplace, kitchenette, and sitting room, with an extra bed. Everything was about the place was charming. The staff is efficient and friendly. The breakfast had juice, delicious... More

Yep. If you have not stayed with us before, ideally we suggest that you try to arrive before dark (as a first-time guest). We haven't lost anyone yet but we are located in a rural area. There are very few street lights (which makes for great star gazing out here). Casa Escondida means "the hidden house" and we mean it.... More

Spent the Weekend recently, booked the Kiva Room. My girlfriend and I had a lovely, romantic time. The rooms were very nice, and the kiva fireplace completed the romantic interlude. Of course the Chimayo area is beautiful in the early fall. The breakfast were prepared by Belinda/Esther and were very pleasant. The hospitality was impeccable and the other guests proved... More

We have stayed here 8 times in the fall in as many years and consider it a second home. You are welcomed by energetic Belinda who has owned the inn for 10 years or Janice who has been there for as long as we have come. Casa Escondida means "hidden house" which describes the feeling you are on an estate... More

I booked the Vista room upstairs for my boyfriend and I. It has a deck outside and a beautiful view of the mountains. I will post pictures at a later time. The breakfasts Belinda prepared were delicious and the coffee was so good each day, that we ran out of it before we were finished!! The hot tub was relaxing... More

What a lovely and serene place set a bit back into the Chimayo countryside! It was the perfect location for the sightseeing we wanted to do in Chimayo. Chimayo is the home of pilgrimmage sites. Casa Escondida itself was a "sanctuario" for travelers. We ate a delicious breakfast with other gentle guests who seemed to have come often and stayed... More
