Family run hotel : the local staff is not so smily nor efficient, except the young man (son of the owner) who is doing his best for helping (carrying the luggage, restoring Internet connection, mending the leaking faucet, ...) and providing you the dishes you would like to try : buckwheat pancakes, local butter, Red Panda draught beer, local cheese,...... 2 nights stay was a good experience here, rooms are basic with clean bathrooms, bhukhari (stove) was the centre of attraction, enjoyed handling it.Buffet meals were not very convenient for everone's choice as I am vegeterian, breakfast was bit disappointing as I didnot get to eat famous Bumthang cheese which I was looking forward to. Friendly staff and my Thanks... More

Stay here so many times during transit between Trashigang and Thimphu. Location is a little off the center which is inconvenient for those who use public bus (not affect the tourist). The staff are nice and friendly. The room is clean and with wood stove for cold night in winter. The toilet with running hot water, but sometime no foot... More

Very comfortable rooms, pine paneled walls, individual wood stoves, lovely fresh linen, a toasty warm doona and a bathroom where everything worked! . This family run establishment provides excellent service. I was travelling with a group tour and all the needs of the group were met. The owners could not have been more hospitable, they sourced and provided a birthday... More

Spent two nights here passing through on an official visit. Beautifully built and painted in the Bhutanese manner, with large wood pine rooms. Very comfortable beds and excellent shower. Lovely to chat with the Kaila, the owner, and his son who runs the place. Breakfast and dinner was good - I particularly enjoyed the local Bumthang cheese.

This place is well run, clean, comfortable, and has excellent food. There's a wood-burning stove in the room and plenty of firewood. Bhutan can be rustic, but this family-owned hotel was our favorite lodging during our 10 days in the country.

A great local hotel - family-run, and clean and comfortable. Spacious rooms are tastefully paneled with blue pine, bathroom clean and adequate, and beds comfortable. Each room has a small bukhari (wood stove) - ask the staff to have it going when you get there so your room is toasty and warm on arrival. When booking, ask for an upstairs... More

We stayed here one night and liked the place a lot! We had a room with windows on three sides, overlooking the valley, and even the beds and the bathroom were excellent! This definately beats our other Bumthang experience, Wangdicholing Guest House.

I was traveling to east to Monger to teach a short course to professional foresters. The room to me was simple, but very comfortable. I really liked the local blue pine paneling (white pine). The bathroom had no tub but the shower worked fine and drained well as did the small sink. The bed was the most comfortable of all... More
