I stayed here with a friend in 11/2011..prior reviews stated bad place re bulletproof glass in lobby..hmmm. We stayed because it's close to friend's house. He went for breakfast and said it was slim pickings. Ok. Everything was kool until I asked for a late checkout. They previously said ckout was at noon, later would be to 1p..but suddenly it... More

I was very skeptical about staying at the Ramada East Orange when I first read the reviews about the hotel being in the ghetto and findings of the cockroaches being in the rooms I was wrong. My mother and I were visiting NY for mothers day weekend and I wanted to find something that wasn’t real expensive and easy access... More

We just needed a place to sleep and shower so looked for something that wasn't real expensive. Parking lot was small and hard to get around in. Practically ran from car to hotel because we didn't feel safe - very rough neighborhood - this was confirmed when we saw the front desk encased in bullet-proof glass. Looked for bugs but... More

Ugh. Never been to Jerseyand didn't want to pay the high taxes for a hotel in NYC. Beware, if you're from the suburbs like me this place is in the GHETTO. I grabbed some beer and Chinese and stayed in my room. Wallpaper coming off the walls. Ice machine broken. Cockroach in bathroom. Lobby stunk of Indian food. Which may... More

It started with the horrible smell in the lobby and that was just the beginning! Our toilet made a swishing noise every two seconds. When the fire alarm went off at 12:27 and a group of people started yelling and banging all the doors, my husband went to the bathroom and found a cockroach. The police came and arrested the... More

The fire alarm went off around midnight. I left my room on the 5th floor, headed to the nearest exit down the stairs to the ground level BUT the exit door would not open. I had to go back up the stairs to the 3rd floor (2nd floor was locked) to eventually exit the building at the ground level at... More

I really enjoyed the stay in this hotel. You need to be aware of the neighborhood which might be a little bit dangerous but fortunately the staff is extremely nice. They have a free shuttle bus, which is a big positive thing, they took us to the train station at 5am :) Thanks, nice place, much better than Ramada Plaza... More

First all they want to sell the location as convenient, convenient to what? Maybe getting mugged or something. We arrived late to check in and there were no parking available in the back. We had to park on the streets which we were skeptical about doing. The room was semi clean but, the hallways, elevators and lobby were not. We... More
