We usually go to Cape May once or twice a year and I settled on this place for the location. We try to stay close to the heart of Cape May but not on the main strip as we love being a little away from the noise. Well, this gem is in a perfect location! Just a short walk from... More

We did a quick (2-night) midweek stay in high season @ Cape May; in order to 'room in' with our daughter, we took the inn's 'Robin's Nest' triple located in a building across the street. The inn itself is perfectly located at the heart of the tourist downtown, haute-'painted-lady' Victorian, and our welcome was warm and efficient. The "room across... More

Larry , our inkeeper was an old hand at the business (since 1978) and provided a nice friendly unobtrussive touch to our gettaway. The room was charming, clean and comfy. They are steps from shopping, dining, the beach and a good wine store. NIce front porch and everything that is good from a small B&B in this interesting town. If... More

Lots of ammenities offered with this B&B to include: close proximity to town square "Mall", horse and carriage rides, tourist booth; relatively close proximity to beach (we're young without kids so walking/bike riding wasn't an issue); on-site dining (dinner - which we didn't have time for and breakfast which we thought was lovely); on-site parking (free for Cottage); and large... My wife and I decided to spend one night in Cape May over the Labor Day weekend. Alexanders' was recommended by another inn which was booked up. It was a good choice. Larry, the innkeeper, was gracious over the phone. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and left on Sunday. We had the Green Room....which an earlier reviewer called "musty." We... More

My two girlfriends and I came for a reunion/girlie weekend and we LOVED this place. Larry, the host, was so sweet and accommodating--made sure we had extra towels, robes, printed out boarding passes, gave great restaurant recommendations. Just overall very warm and sweet service. The food (Zagat rated restaurant and James Beard award-winning chef!) was AMAZING. Ridiculously ample breakfasts and... More

I paid $370 to stay at the Alexander’s Inn bed and breakfast. First, upon entering the room we found a stained carpet and a room that was old and dated (not historic old). Then we pulled back the comforter and noticed stains all over the sheets. We then called the inn keeper Larry who apologized and began changing the sheets.... More

We have stayed in 10 of the top b&bs in Cape May in the last 4 years, and this has the most beautiful porch and some of the best food. You are served Diane's innovative breakfast at your own table on this lovely porch (weather permitting) and are thankful there is no egg casserole here! The rooms are full Victorian,... More

We stayed in the Green Room, and my recurring thought was that this room must have been closed most of the year. It was like staying in your old aunt's basement. Fortunately, we had nice weather and were able to keep the windows open. There's a window-unit type air conditioner mounted above the sink, but it couldn't do enough to... More

This review is only for the restaurant since we did not stay in the hotel. Our family loves traditional French food. We travel to France often and are always searching for good French restaurants. I'm sorry to say, our meal at Alexander's was terrible. First, we were told that that the restaurant was out of their French onion soup. Instead... More
