If you don't like the White Mountains, quaint New England charm, or being surrounded by nature, the Brookhill Bed and Breakfast alone is worth the trip! That being said, we enjoyed everything above (and drove in from Montreal). Susan and Rod are perfect hosts, and I cannot recommend this stay more, particularly for a romantic vacation. Moreover, if your trips... More

As many of the fellow posters have mentioned, Brookhill truly is One of a Kind. When I look at pictures of properties and read the reviews, I usually take what I see and read, digest them then take my expectations down a few notches....not here at Brookhill. From the warm welcome by Susan and Rod, the charming and cozy accommodations,... More

Our stay at Brookhill was better than anything we could have hoped for. The house is absolutely gorgeous and Susan and Rod are so nice and hospitable. The view is amazing and sitting by the fire was so relaxing. Susan's breakfasts were so delicious! We are already planning our next trip to Brookhill and cannot wait to come back.

What a great joy it was to stay here at this wonderful home! Rod and Susan could not have been more gracious and accomadating. And who doesn't like to wake up to a crackling fire and a lovely breakfast? We found it hard to leave for some skiing and looked forward to returning to yes, another crackling fire! After just... It has taken me a few months to get around to writing this but better late than never. The two things I look at first when choosing a place to stay are cleanliness and location so I will address them first. This place is absolutely IMMACULATE. Each room is spotless and I felt very comfortable even enjoying the amazing bathtub... More

I hesitate to write this review only out of selfishness. Hidden gems like the Brookhill are becoming few and far between and I want to keep it all for myself! From the moment you arrive you are enveloped in a atmosphere of "welcome home". Take your shoes off, relax by the fire in a robe or your favorite flannel shirt,... More

This is not just home away from home but more of a dream home. Just perfect in any way possible. Inside and out. From the living room to the soooo romantic bed room , the bath and all the rest. And the view…WOW ,WHAT A VIEW!…and still…after all that, the best thing in Brookhill are Susan and Rod. They are... More

You can't do better than this. The living space is very generous and makes you feel like you are in your own home. The views out over the unspoiled mountains is glorious. I don't think you can see a single building or man-made structure of any kind from the bedroom windows. There is a lovely dining area, a cozy living... More

This is a beautiful home in a magnificent setting. We have never seen anything like it. It actually deserves a category of its own. Not a “B” and “B”, but an “H” and “B” – House and Breakfast. You have a whole house to yourself with the owners, Susan and Rod living in an attached home as in a duplex.... More

My husband and I stayed at Brookhill with our daughter and son in law--between the of wine and cheese and curling up by the cracklng fire our chilly afternoon was total relaxation-----none of us were prepared for the spectacular view of the foilage on Mt Washington that changed in the evening sunshine. Encouraged to have a wonderful gourmet dinner, Susan... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Brookhill B&B is a unique bed and breakfast that is one-half of what was built 82 years ago as a summer studio for a Boston photographer. Its view of Mt. Washington is considered one of the best in New England. It is more like a cottage than a b&b in that it has a private entrance, large living room with a wood-burning fireplace, dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom, terrace and gardens. The owners, Rod and Susan, live in the other half of the home and are therefore available and attentive to their guests needs. They serve a hearty home-cooked breakfast at whatever time guests choose. ... more   less
