We have been attempting to work with the Sales Director/Wedding Planner (Pauline) to reserve rooms and host a post wedding brunch for the morning after the wedding. After several unanswered phone messages (she says that we only called once) we finally had a response from another employee after sending an email to the general email box of the inn. My... More

This review applies to restaurant only. My family took another to the Three CHimneys Inn to for a celebration. My beef, ordered rare, was delivered more than well done. "No problem," the waitress returned it to the kitchen and would have another in "just a few minutes". Despite repeated queries to the waitress the meat was not re-delivered for more... More

My husband and I have stayed here several times, both in room 12 and 14. We love room 14. Cozy comfortable room, warm fireplace and bubbly tub. Our rooms are always clean and charming. The staff is polite. The grounds beautiful. We've visited the bar but never stayed for dinner. The breakfast is always good and filling. We will be... More

My wife and I enjoy getting away to Portsmouth for the weekend, and when we do the Three Chimneys Inn is always the first place I check. The staff is friendly, the grounds are great for a walk or kayak (the inn abuts the river), and it's a short drive to downtown Portsmouth, where there's great food & bars. More

My fiance and I stayed in room 17 at the Three Chimney's Inn to celebrate our engagement. My initial reaction to the room was a little disappointed--there were some cobwebs on the ceiling, we brought wine and cheese, but there was no mini fridge in the room to keep the cheese cold, the paint and border in the room and... We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! The paranormal activity you described comes as no surprise. This historic property is home to many kind spirits from the past who used to even take care of the cobwebs for us. The food here is undoubtedly the best around and I will pass your compliments to Chef David. I'm glad that... More

Most everything would be great if not for the nonexistent noise isolation. Try staying here while a wedding is going on, you can forget about sleep. It's treated like an inn but it has the sound isolation of a house. Every step, every drawer closing, every conversation comes right through the walls and ceiling. More

Hi, I'm Kurt Peterson and I was working at the front desk on this particular night. I received a noise complaint around 11:30pm and I arrived in the carriage house within 5 minutes to find that the partying wedding guests had receded from the hallway back into their rooms. We do absolutely everything we can to ensure that our guests... More

We were very pleased with our experience with Three Chimneys. We held our October wedding there and stayed at the inn multiple times throughout the planning process, and we always found the service to be excellent. We took over the entire inn for the wedding weekend and our guests all raved about the beautiful rooms. The innkeeper and event staff... More

I've stayed here a dozen times. It is fabulous. If you're looking for a new hotel with chrome and glass, look elsewhere. If you're looking for an historic place with wonderful service, stay here. they are so helpful - even found my daughter's diamond earring after we checked out ... 48 hours later it arrived in Pennsylvania by FedEx. Folks,... More

I stayed two nights at Three Chimneys, a handsome Colonial property filled with a sense of history and a quirky mix of other things. My room, for instance, had a traditional wooden floor, high ceiling, a real four-poster bed that required a climbing stool to get on to, a full-sized standing knight in metal armor, and framed photographs of 1930s... OK, so Durham, NH seems to be home to as many pizza joints as students... I have never seen so many places to choose pizza in such a small town! If you find yourself looking for a weekend getaway, let me suggest "The 3 Chimneys". Having been a guest twice I can unequivocally recommend Rooms 24 AND 25 and have... More
