For my high school graduation trip(2004) i wanted to go hiking with my dad and we selected the presidential range. We found this glorious new lodge that had been open for just 3 weeks. I really enjoyed how each floor of the hotel was named after a different tree to add character. the food was great especially coming back after... More

My wife and I with our two boys aged 5 and 7 had a great 5 night stay at Highland Lodge last August. The location is beautiful with a nice range of hikes from the lodge. The staff were wonderful, international and engaging. We learned a great deal about the forest from them. Highland has a great kids program that... More

My family visits the Highland Center every other year to celebrate the holidays. Most of the family travels from other states, so the equipment room is a big help for them. It features LL Bean gear that is available for check out during your stay (free of charge). They offer boots, poles, snowshoes, jackets, etc. There is plenty of hiking,... More

My family stayed at the Highland Center Lodge at Crawford Notch on November 11-14, 2011. First, let me state something very clearly: This is NOT a hotel. It is, however, very comfortable for its class of accommodation. The on-site cafeteria offers very good home-cooked meals, making the price an excellent value. On Fridays and busy nights, dinner is served buffet-style;... More

I loved my stay! The dinner and breakfasts were fresh and delicious. The rooms are very clean and the staff are just a charm. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I especially enjoyed the after-dinner talk with an art historian and poet. A great way to learn more about the area. You know that you can really go crazy hiking, because there... More

This is a very fonctional and practical option when going hiking in the White Mountains. It's nothing fancy, but very clean, and it does have a "Mountain atmosphere". Also family friendly; and despite what some other reviers said; I did not have any issues with noise. The only thing I did not like was quality of food. More

This is a great spot to take advantage of the beautiful Mt. Washington National Park. Lots to see and do in the great outdoors. The staff is terrific, the food is very good and the atmosphere is extremely relaxing. There is a cocktail hour before dinner and you end up meeting lots of great people - a great spot for... More

My first visit to white mountains. I love Highland even just from pictures so I decided a 3 nights visit. Mainly to rest/relax and visual fo future plans of hiking. I was on a private room with shared bath. Rooms are visually clean except for visible child hand marks in the comforter but doesnt bother me. Family style dinner is... More

$200/night for my husband and I to sleep in bunkbeds, no fan or a/c (unusually hot), shared bath, poor dinner (they think everyone is vegetarian)...we would rather have kept tent camping or for the same money, stayed in Conway in a hotel/motel and dinner out. I agree with another review...a bunch of rich, wannabe hikers! I will say the breakfast... More

Perfect spot for those wishing to get outdoors and hike around the White Mountains. Food is very good and quite plentiful and served family style. Guests also get free access to tons of outdoor gear furnished by LL Bean. Some might consider it rustic (no spa, room service, etc.) but for hikers it is just right. My 2nd stay there.... More
