Nice place downtown, kind of a botique style hotel. I really liked the location and layout in downtown. Downstairs the lobby opens up to the "fremont experience". Fortunately being a seasoned traveler I had ear plugs as its VERY NOISY all night. If you like new and nice you may not like this property but if you are like me... More

updated bedroom, but very small. The bathroom is stuck in the 30's. Only one luggage cart. Front Desk staff needs to work on raising their head out from the computer screen. Deli staff very friendly. We had our room facing North Main on the corner of Fremont. I love the location but a bit noisy with the band outside the... More

We stay here often when we're in Vegas. Here's the thing, it is small, it is old, it can be loud at night. Anyone who has done minimal research should know this, so expect it going in. Once you know these things, this place is GREAT! The ambiance is awesome, being the oldest hotel in Vegas. Has the best, old... More

First off rooms are tiny, oh well. You get what you pay for, but when you have toilet that will not stop flushing at 12am and the front desk rudely informs you they have no maintenance on site and no rooms (lie cause they gave me another room) very rudely you get less. Customer service at night was the poorest... More

Ok, these are some of the tiniest rooms I've ever stayed in. Smaller than NYC rooms even! Ditto on the bathrooms. Having said that the location is great, the staff is super, and the rooms were clean and reasonably updated. If you are on a Budget the Gate will serve you well. tip: ask for an "exterior room" ... The... More

We just spent a night at the Golden Gate Oct 1st. My biyfriend had 4 free nights at the Freemont. It was cheaper & better flight times if we went to vegas Oct 1st. There were very few rooms to choose from because it was Bikers Week. We were lucky enough to find a room at the Golden Gate. It... More

The casino is classy and charming with its nod to history. The rooms have received a renovation, but were not fully satisfying. The hotel is a option worth considering when budget matters. Rooms are the quite small, mine had ancient windows and inadequate A/C. The renovation of decor and furnishings was nice. Flatscreen, comfy bed, coffee maker. Unfortunate location of... More

I wasn't sure what to expect as the reviews have been mixed but what a pleasant suprise. Room with 2 double beds not side by side but on opposite walls, really a nice set up. Loved the furnishings and yes the bathroom was small but it was clean. For those who have slammed this place get real. If you want... More

We wanted to spent 3 nights with my husband and friends here but we missed our connecting flight in Europe so at the end there was only 2. Well, both rooms were extremely tiny and the restrooms were old and dirty. There was really cold outside (New Year's Eve in 2010) and we had almost frozen, as the unbelievable old... More

We have just returned from another stay. The only complaint I had is with the noise level on the Fremont side of the hotel. You wil get that with each hotel on Fremont, so not just a Golden Gate issue. Room was clean, bed very, very comfy and the coffee maker was not as complicated as some seem to think,... More
