I think this was the friendliest motel on our two-week driving trip. The room was large and quiet, comfortable and clean, and a very good price. The owner was willing to chat and sent us off to supper at a good simple cafe. No qualms recommending the Trade Winds.
We chose this motel as we were taking a small kitten to our granddaughter and needed a place that allowed animals. We were worried that the room would be awful because they allowed animals. The room was beautiful, clean, and reasonably priced. If we ever need to stay In Valentine, Ne. Again, The Trade Winds Lodge would be our choice.
We stayed here overnight several years on a trip from Texas to Mount Rushmore and other points in the North West. Our room was spacious and a pleasant place to spend the night during a heavy rain and thunderstorm. The location is on the south edge of town and the rooms are well insulated and there was practically no outside...

A nice room at a reasonable price. I wish I could find a place like this in every town I visit. I've stayed here before, and was not disappointed this time. It's very well kept, and has a mini fridge and microwave in every room. The owners are very nice and onsite. I love this place.....
We were so pleased to find such a clean, well-maintained motel in this small town. The proprietors were excellent and very helpful to us. It was a treat to stay in this reasonably priced location near some good restaurants. We would certainly visit again.
This is a good place to stay in a fairly isolated town. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are large, clean, and quiet. The price is right, too--$75 (with a AAA discount) for a room with two queens. The rooms are rather sterile and unimaginatively furnished, and the tv is small, but this is a good place...

We picked this hotel based on the great reviews and Tradewinds Lodge did not disappoint. Considering the price, hospitality, close proximity of parking to room, this is an excellent place to stay. The entire place was clean, well maintained, quiet and comfortable. The folks taking care of the place made you feel at home - priceless. We'll certainly come back...

We started the day in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and ran out of gas (figuratively and almost literally!) in Valentine, Nebraska. After a 750 mile drive, we were ready to stop at the first decent looking motel we could find, which was the Trade Winds Lodge. It was a great choice. Check-in was friendly, the room was comfortable and impeccably clean, and...
