Considering this is the ONLY hostel in town, I was happy to accept whatever came my way. I was quite happily surprised with the accommodations. Hutchins Hostel is a little small in terms of the common area (inside) but clean, well kept, safe, and friendly. Clean laundry (including towel!) and two restrooms (shower only no bathtubs) for everyone . .... More

This is a great little hostel, perfect location between downtown and the University. Dave is a cool dude with good knowledge of the area. Great amenities, beds are super comfy and best of all its very well priced. I have stayed there twice during my roadtrip and both times were a great stay.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel, and I was a little depressed to leave the cozy space and new acquaintances. In describing my experience to others, I definitely use these words: clean, comfortable, good vibe, cheap, awesome dog in the yard, good location/walkable to downtown, secure, easy parking, nice kitchen and laundry facilities, cool owner. If you visit... More

I stayed at the Hutchins Hostel in 2011. It is a nice building, with truly excellent beds (the best I've slept on in a hostel), and a good kitchen. Very clean and adequate lodging for a short or medium stay in Missoula. My only problem with the hostel is that it was very difficult to check in. The proprietor is... More

I was looking for a reasonable priced place to stay on my backpacking adventure to Glacier National Park. I was surprised by the homey feel of Dave's "Hutchins Hostel." Situated on the East side of town on Broadway St. about a half hour walk from the greyhound station. Clean, affordable, convenient, and with the added pleasure of good company. You... More

Stayed one night, two separate times this summer, and one time last summer. I felt very much at home and rested. Dave is very interested in making his place welcoming and easygoing. It's 'way clean, very quiet, minimum of fuss, and you get to play with Dave's dog, too. And the hostel attracts good people. Lucky Missoula is a bit... More

Clean, great location, and has all the things I look for in a hostel. Dave was also great about checking me in much later than expected since I got delayed coming in from Canada.

It's got fairly standard amenities, but they're new and hip and modern, and it's so clean that I was comfortable walking around barefoot. Dave, the owner, seems committed to making guests feel at home. I got stuck in Missoula for 3 days with a car repair, so I saw a lot of very interesting people come and go.

This hostel is very small located on east broadway. Price was very reasonable, very clean inside. It is a 2 story normal looking house. Owners of this place are living upstairs. They re-designed the 1st floor so guests only use 1st floor. Door has pass code lock changes everyday so guests can enter anytime. Also I have to mention that... More
