My husband and I traveled from Wichita, Ks to try a stay at the Roaring River Lodge and the minute we walked through the front door we knew it was going to be bad. First, we saw a bunch of people in the main room and they were all there for a prom! It was noisy and we couldn't use... More

We stayed at Roaring River State Park on the first weekend of 2012 trout season in the river cabins. We got there late on Friday night and realized we had to carry our luggage up 15 steps and down past several other cabins on a stone sidewalk (made by the CCC) to get to ours, which was on the end.... Quality time spent in this beautiful park. Don't miss the grow area with waterfall and large lake. Deer leap trails that circles the park is great adventure for all ages.Bring snaks or just kick back with a good book in this park. WHAT A PLACE!

I love to drive from NE Oklahoma to Roaring River. My girls (both young) enjoy the fry in the hatchery. The large spawning pond is great. There is also a hiking trail. The water is COLD but people do swim. Camp grounds are clean and monitored. I personally go for the trout fishing. Its pretty cheap for a 3 day... More

This was a quick side trip for us as my father had been there many years ago. We had our little spaniel with us and so I furtively looked around for "No pet" signs as more and more places are becoming less dog friendly. I was so pleased to learn that dogs are welcome and three other leashed dogs were... More

My husband and I and are four young kids absolutely love to come to Roaring River State Park! While my husband goes fishing, I take the kids and enjoy the hatchery, playgrounds, and swimming. There is also a large waterslide just outside the park and a water park in Cassville only 5 minutes away. We also enjoy McDonald's, Sonic, Pizza... More

My husband and drove to Roaring River State Park over Easter weekend. We decided to spend the night somewhere close by and enjoy a full day of fishing the next day. We stopped in at the Lodge at roaring river called the Emory Melton Inn, in order to find out how much a basic room in the lodge cost per... More

The Emory Melton Inn at Roaring River State Park is a "natural" choice for those looking to escape the busy world. I have stayed at the Inn three times since 2004, and I have not been disappointed with any of my visits. The rooms have always been clean, the staff friendly and the views spectacular. The lodge's restaurant serves traditional... More

My family have been going to Roaring River for years; I was introduced to it by my dad and we brought our daughter up fishing on the lovely little river. We've stayed in both the Inn and the cabins and never had a problem until this last time. The cabins were recently remodeled. and the changes were only moderately successful,... More

Traveling to the area for a family reunion at the end of July, someone suggested we stay at the lodge in Roaring River State Park. We couldn't find any reviews on-line, but their website seemed OK. The picture of the lobby looked nice, and it was a state park accomodation... couldn't be too bad, right? WRONG!!! I can honestly say... More
