As hurricane Gustav immerged into the Gulf, hotel rooms were scarce. I went on line and booked for the whole family-all 6 rooms. Not knowing what the area was like or what the hotel was like. When we called to come one day early and gave the clerk our reservation number, he said they had availability and to come. When we got there, there we only half of the amount of rooms for that night. We did what we had to and the next day we were put in rooms. The problems started then. The rooms air conditioner leaked and the carpet became soaked. Not just at night but constantly. Walking on the floor in socks was disgusting. They would be black! We had a puppy there for about 4 hours until the kennel opened. We found him trying to get something under the a/c unit. It was drug paraphenalia, lets leave it at that. The housekeeper came out the room screaming on our 4th day, after she was stuck with a needle of a syringe that was found in the sheets of the bed of a person who checked out. Evacuee... more
