The Alluvian is a boutique hotel that you would find in New York City, transplanted to small-town Mississippi. It is very lovely - nice linens, comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms, and fantastic southern breakfast. It's right across the street from the fantastic Viking Cooking School - truly a first-class facility and experience. They also have the Alluvian spa - which was... More

Couldnt be a better stay! Gorgeous lobby, wonderful staff and amazing large rooms. I loved that it was modern and contemporary and NOT traditionally 'southern' I am a Tennessean and love some modern style! The breakfast was nice and after we had checked out and done the school, they let the hang out and watch football while the girls shopped. More

My husband and I stayed at the Alluvian on New Year's Day 2011, and not surprisingly for a small Mississippi town, everything was closed. No restaurants, no shopping, no tours, no spa, no nothing.. Basically, the only thing open was the hotel lobby. The hotel restaurant wasn't even open. Needless to say, our romantic weekend getaway ended up being a... More

My husband and I stayed at the alluvian to end our tour of the Delta. We spent our other nights in less expensive unique accommodations. We checked in on January 1 and the hotel only had 7 rooms booked. We got a king corner room - 308. The room was huge and views were excellent. Bathroom was nice but I... More

From the moment you walk in the door, you will be impressed with the elegance and charm of this small hotel. You will find the details and features that you wouldl expect at a larger hotel in a metropolitan area, but you will also find the attention to detail and uniqueness that you would find at a small inn. The... More

We love it here! The perfect trip is staying at the Alluvian, going to the spa, eating at Giardina's and The Crystal Grill and shopping at The Mississippi Store and Turn Row Books! The hotel is very clean and the staff makes sure to see to your every need. The rooms are very large as are the bathrooms. We love... More

Stayed at the hotel on a birthday weekend based on a recommendation from a friend. Enjoyed it immensely! Beautifully decorated hotel in the middle of a run down /deserted downtown area. But don't let that deter you! Service was excellent..spa services across the street were top notch also. Took a cooking class at the Viking cooking school across the street... More

A lovely hotel in charming, sleepy Greenwood. Excellent service and nicely appointed rooms. Large bathrooms. If you are stopping in Greenwood, this is the place to stay. More

I stayed at the Alluvian for two nights for work. The rooms were well decorated with extremely comfortable beds. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired but thats not why you stay at a hotel. Its in downtown Greenwood which seems to be a ghost town, certainly not the hotels fault. Make sure to dine early as almost everything... More

The Alluvian is a very nice place to stay but a bit overpriced. I have stayed in other boutique hotels & this one was everythign I expected it to be. Our room was HUGE and clean with very nice bed coverings and pillows. There was no fan in the bathroom & the windows would not open, so there was no... More
