My stay here actually goes back to Spring 2005. Sorry John Hall, times change, and not accepting Credit Cards until you sold it was not acceptable. Yet, you accepted Check, which these days is more then just plan risky. Does it cost, to accept Credit Cards, Absolutely, so be it. even your fast food has no problem. As fair as... more

We stayed here last weekend. Never again. Poor service, treated rudely by staff (front desk -and- waitstaff). Uncomfortable beds. Paper-thin walls means you can hear every other room's activity. Tiniest bathroom ever. Wallpaper is falling off, probably from decades of water damage. Avoid if you have mold allergies. more

We did not stay at the hotel but brought a large group from our church for lunch while on a day outing. These were senior citizens. The day of the outing 3 members were ill and did not come but had already paid. After a lovely lunch, I asked that the 3 dinners that we paid for be boxed so... more

The Anderson House is such a treat...do yourself a favor and take a detour and stay here. The hotel is charming with wonderful period furnishings including important things like cloth dolls and photos. The bathrooms in the lower-priced rooms aren't going to be big marble spreads so if that's important to you, book up. And if you aren't allergic to... more

Room was uncomfortable, cheap and tacky. Wallpaper was falling off the walls, the bathroom door was nothing more than a screen and the carpet was old and dirty. The door to the hallway was not sealed properly and you could hear everyone as they entered or left their room. Staff was rude. All in all a bad experience and I... more

Staying at the Anderson was most memorable part of a wonderful trip for the changing of the leaves. I was born in rockford, live now in California and my wife had neve seen how beautiful Fall can be. Our stay at the Anderson and the "gift" of sleeping with "Goblin" one of their incredible cats made this very special. The... more

I stayed there on 3 occasions over the past 2 months, staying 3 nights on each visit and the management, staff, the restaurant, bar, were all excellent. I had a minor problem with opening up a window and within 5 minutes of asking for help, maintenance was at my door. The management staff was very freindly and informative in providing... more

Charming and homey hotel, friendly service (a little spotty at times), generous and quite tasty brunch. Room was comfortable - no complaints. The hotel is known for its "cat rental" service - guests can borrow a kitty for their stay. If you're very allergic like us, however, don't worry - they'll give you a cat-free room - didn't react at... more

Management was rude and was incapable of handling and resolving customer complaints. Lacked overnight service and didn't seem to care about customer satisfaction at all. Dissappointing considering its character and appeal. Could be a very nice hotel with a chnage in business ethic. more

A taste Mexico in Minnesota? I didn't think it was possible, but the small town of Wabasha offers a complete Mexican get away in the upper midwest. This resort town could be considered the Cozumel or Ixatapa of the Midwest. The Anderson House, the oldest operating hotel in Minnesota, has the elegance of the quaintest Mexican inn. The decor and... more
