Very well kept resort! Our cabin was extremely clean and well equipped. We have been going to this resort for years and will be back again next year. The best part is the owners the nicest people you will ever meet!

Aspen Resort did not disappoint!! We stayed in the Mallard and it was perfect for our family. It was spacious, clean and we loved the Northwoods decor. The owners of the resort David, Cora, Cody, and Julie and their dock help go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcomed and entertained. We had one day where we decided to go to Ely and the grandkids missed the cookie decorating activity. Cora made little care packages with the cookies, frosting and sprinkles and made sure our grandkids still got to do the activity!! We are a fishing family and we can say the fishing was amazing. It was a very easy decision to rebook already for next year. We can’t wait to go back and build on the wonderful memories we made this year. Thank you for your gracious hospitality.

The most clean, well maintained, friendly resort I have been to. We had a family event with 15 people in campers and one cabin. Lots of activities and the fishing was awesome. It was amazing we have already booked 2024. This will be a family tradition.

We have been doing a father/son fishing trip and I have the privilege of having my son in law invite me along for the last 4 years. This is a fishing trip, pre-in-season rates and we go there strictly to fish. 8 of us rent 2 cabins and the service and accommodations have never changed from top notch, 5 stars. This year, the ice left 2 days prior to our arrival and the docks were in already. Conditions were very difficult, but every time we approached the dock Cody was there waiting to tie off our boats. I do not get the review that was crabby because of the lack of counter space and the poor attitude when they asked to extend their stay. People book cabins for the length desired. Don't expect more if you ask and the answer is No. Other people are on their way to stay in your cabin. I did notice that the owners name is NOT the same as the owner we have known for the last 4 years, so possibly that review is not relevant??

David and Cora have a great thing going here at Aspen Resort. This was our second year staying here and it did not disappoint. The cabin we stayed at was clean and spacious with a view of the lake. We rented a boat for our time there that was perfect to get all six of us around the lake for some great fishing. An added bonus was all the fun extra activities for the kids including a pool, mini golf, tether ball and a swing set to name a few. Already looking forward to next year which we booked before we left! Thanks for a fun and relaxing time.

We had such a lovely time staying at Aspen. This was our second year staying here over the summer, and we are already booked for next summer! We stayed in a gorgeous, clean, and spacious cabin. The kids absolutely loved swimming at the pool, jumping into the lake, playing tetherball, bocce ball, and mini golf! Aspen truly has it all! Everyone there made it feel like it was a home away from home. We felt so comfortable boating around the lake, and we caught tons and tons of fish! David and Cora are wonderful hosts. It was such a great trip that we now look forward to every year! Thank you for helping us make amazing family memories!

To start I would like to give a huge thankyou to the entire Downes family (Dave, Cora, Cody, Julie and Briar). From the time you show up to when you unfortunately have to leave, this family goes above and beyond to be sure that your vacation is absolutely perfect. The cabins, dock facility, lodge, pool and property are very well maintained and you can tell the amount of pride that this family puts in to make sure your vacation is memorable. The nightly resort camp fire provides an opportunity for vacationing families to meet, joke and share fish stories. After an obviously long day running their resort, the Downes family always stops by and shares stories and answers questions. They also have smores night, potluck night and minnow races for the kids. Once again going above and beyond what would normally be expected!! If you are looking for a resort that provides outstanding amenities and provides access to one of the greatest fishing lakes in Minnesota and who's owners take pride in the memories that are created during your stay, Aspen Resort is the place to be. Great job Downes Family!!! Keep up the great work! Look forward to see you again next year! Counting down the days already! Greg B.

This place is amazing. It has everything one might want. Kayaks, canoes, outdoor pool, paddle boats. You name it. We were in the campground, but I'd love to stay at one of their beautiful log cabins. The staff is wonderful. They had activities that the grandchildren enjoyed. The park like setting is glorious!

We stayed in the Coyote cabin. It was very clean and updated! It provided the extras like we would have at home to make our stay more comfortable. The resort is maintained very well and the owners made us feel SO welcomed! I cannot thank them enough for the kindness they extended to us!You will enjoy your stay here! There are cabins for all party sizes. It is a must to go see the bear sanctuary near by. Wow! That was quite an awesome experience! Thank you so much for a great stay!
