As we drove deeper north into the picturesque woodlands of Minnesota past blue lake after deep blue lake, it seemed we were a slowly motoring into a different time. It wasn’t until we arrived at the Nordic Viking Inn in Crosby that we realized we’d traveled 1300 years deep into history. In 2009, before we had even officially begun planning... More

Great location and decor. Steiner was self absorbed and has pretty perverted and sophomoric humor. He joked about having cameras in our room and watching my wife shower. He also charged us $40 for a homemade game he made up which was basically a bed sheet with marker drawings. Food was average and salty. Great dog though. I would not... More

My husband and I stayed here for our second anniversary and were hoping to do the interative theater and mystery game. Since there were no other guests for the first two nights we didn't get to do those activities, but hung out with the owner (Steinarr) instead. He is such a great guy! He does have a strong personality and... More

My wife and I stayed here and really enjoyed everything about this place. This is not your typical B&B, so be prepared for a new experience. If you want a quiet, private night or weekend away by yourselves, then this is not the place for you. If you want to meet other people, eat, drink, be merry, and travel back... More

Our viking host was gracious, from treatment in the bar to transporting our luggage for us. The hot tub was enough to leave us speachless. Later, the rest of the guests pitched in to make the night memorable. It was an experience beyond belief...one that everyone should try. Highly recommend the Viking breakfast. Authenticity is a rare treat these days. Traveling mostly for business I never experience anachronism - meaning this in the best sense of another time and place. My daughter and I are traveling to a language immersion camp. What fun to spend the night in a Viking ship with views of stained glass. This summer is about getting away from... More

Steinarr, the owner, is more bark than bite, with lots of raunchy humor, laughs, some shouts (all good natured), and a little history lesson throw in. We brought our 2 yr old and she had a great time, so he couldn't be that bad! (raunchiness waited for after her bed time, he is not stupid). I think the bad reviews... More

I have to admit up front, I am a review reader yet also an adventurer. So... when I read the reviews about the Nordic Inn, I was a bit skeptical given the mixed nature of the public opinion. Once I called to make a reservation and spoke with Steinarr (the owner) I decided to book a room for the evening... More
