Very enjoyable, high quality experience all around. Ed and the Team took a personal interest in ensuring my father and his friend (a couple of "old timers" - lol) with health conditions, found some good fishing and easy access on the boat. Lots of great memories! - James Weinmann, Queen Creek, AZ.

Had an amazing time at Vdl! We stayed in the lakeside cabin and could not have been more comfortable!! Loved the screen porch!! Comfy bed, well stocked kitchen everything you need! Fishing was amazing! They have fuel, bait and an assortment of fishing tackle on-site. They offer fishing seminars and several guides nearby if you need help to have a successful fishing trip! The dam is beautiful! Listening to the falls all night is heavenly! They offer a meal plan which we didn't utilize but heard that the food was fabulous and plentiful! We already booked another trip back to VDL and can't wait to leave!!

I came here with my parents to celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary. As life long fisherman, they were looking forward to fishing a new area of the USA. We did 2 days of guided fishing tours, which really helped us figure out where our best chances of catching fish would be. Ed went out of his way to provide us with helpful fish finding tips as well ! Our cabin was perfect. Clean and comfortable with great views, and centrally located. It was equipped with all the amenities to make our stay feel like home. We rented a pontoon boat for fishing, that had a Hummingbird GPS/fish finder and Minn Kota electric motor with iPilot. This was perfect for us, as it was easy to get on and off for my parents and provided us with all the room we needed for several hours on the water. Everyone at VDL is SO ACCOMMODATING, and responsive to your every request. From providing a golf cart to my Dad who has trouble walking the incline to our cabin, to helping us with bait, cleaning fish, and meals. Thank you Ed, Wendy, Tyler and everyone at VDL for making this a trip to remember!

What a great experience for us at Lake Vermilion Dam Lodge. We were there to celebrate our 50th Anniversary and such wonderful people to meet and chat with. Our host Ed and Wendy helped us out in many ways and we had a fantastic time. We chose their meal plan and had 2 great meals daily, thank you Rick. Our cabin was great and up on hill so we could look out over lake area. Plenty of things to do and see. Play ground for the kids, swimming pool, paddle boards, kayaks, and of course larger boats for the adults who want to fish or just meander around in the lake. We had a great time and would say yes this is a 5 star lodge. Want to thank everyone for a great week.

I have been fortunate to be able to travel to Minnesota or Canada for a once or twice yearly fishing trips for many years. After not being able to reserve a spot at our usual spot, we came across Vermilion Dam Lodge and were extremely happy we did. Ed and all of the staff were 1st class and very helpful. Not often do you find accomodations that are so well kept and clean. The boats are also well maintained and equipped with trolling motors and gps tracking fish finder and map of the lake, which was very helpful since it was the first time fishing this lake. We liked it so much, we booked the same time for next year.

While it’s been a few years since I’ve been up at Ed’s place been stuck in dry gulch Tucson AZ so not much in the way of fishing there maybe some trout in the mountain areas. I don’t know where Ed finds the energy to be so available the way he is, what a awesome find. You will catch big musky at Vermillion and if you need a little help the guides there are great. Hint...If you live in Chicago be sure to bring Ed 10lbs of chicago beef with gravy he will roll out two red carpets for you. 😃👍 Too bad there wasn’t 6 stars to check BBB Chicago

We range in age from 71 to 1 and there's something for everyone! Boat rentals, guides, canoeing, a beach, pool....kids and adults kept busy!!! We stay in Aerie which is large enough for all of us and super comfortable. Some like to fish, some like to sit by the pool, some play in the sand.....VDL can accommodate everyone.

I have been here for a week this summer, and the years prior. It is a beautiful lake to fish and has very nice lodge and cabins. Ed is always very helpful and just an all around nice guy! He tries to make sure that everyone has a great experience. The staff are always very friendly and happy to help you if you need anything. If you are looking for a nice quiet and peaceful week away, this is the place to go.
