The attention to detail of cleaning shows. Rooms are more spacious than expected. Not fancy but neat. There's a Refrigerator, separate area for coffee & luggage storage. Close to stores & water though still some work on adjacent public pier & boat loading area. There is a clean pool on site & deck area on site.

Every time we go to Port Austin we stay at the Beachcomber. This month we had such a wonderful stay that was going to be 2 days we went home the day of check out all the way back to Sterling Heights and went right back to the Beachcomber. For another 2 days. The beach and location is outstanding.

We made reservation 3 days prior it trip 2 hours north. Tried to check in early and was told room not ready and come back. 6/16/12. just learned the owner gave our room away after our long drive despite a hold with our credit card 3 days ago. she showed no remorse , applology or offer to assist. No vacancy. DO NOT STAY HERE. Inept ownership and mgt. we will file a complaint with port austin's chamber and the better business breurau.

We actually stayed here in the winter months on our trip around the thumb. But the room was warm, clean and the people were friendly.

My sister, brother-in-law and I stayed at the Beachcomer Motel and it was great. We had a spotless,cozy, room with coffee pot included. The room had 2 queen size beds. I think I walked both sides of the property - I can not imagine that there are roomy units except the family units on the front east side (kitchenettes and even .... our stay at the Beachcomber was perfect....our room was clean...roomy...the furniture was quite old but comfy. the amenities were outstanding. pool, beautiful beach, walking distance to restaurants, shops, marina, breakwall, ice cream parlor...you name it. the heated pool was nice on the one cool day we had....there was a bonfire on the beach nightly. we didn't get to enjoy that...
