This location is truely unquie. The ancient rocks are a key feature and totally blended into the little accommodation units (as in the actual rocks are inside your room). The staff are very friendly and tge trip to see the fish river canyon is close by. It might not be 5 star accommodation but is something you will never get... More

We only stayed one night at the Canon Lodge - in hindsight it would have been worth staying two nights. The surroundings are very nice, there are two nice pools, one with a view of the deseert and mountains, and the little chalets are charming. It looks like Hobbit town! The only thing that does not fit is the entrance... More

Canon Lodge is a perfect choice for staying near Fish River Canyon. We had a great time, and I would return regularly, if I had the free time. First, don't be deterred upon arrival. The main part of the lodge - reception, dining, and bar areas - is a beautiful, well-kept historical building. However, due to the administration's quarters; perfectly... More

It is a long drive to fish river canyon, I believe it is 118 km off B4. Arrival is a wow consider it's in the middle of nowhere. Check-in was fast and our luggegs were send to the room right way. We stayed in chalet 9, 10, it is a little far out but we liked it. The room is... More

Setting and main building very attractive, huts cute and rustic on out side but interiors are a great disappointment. All furnishings look old, clumsy and old fashioned, curtains made of synthetic fabric and dont run smoothly on the pole so  a chair is required to open and close them, consequently housekeeping didnt bother closing them and they were scorching on... The pool is the best part! Everything else from campsite to food and service could be improved. This is a chain owned lodge (they have about 13 in Namibia). The service is better than in other places, but communication is still difficult! Service is basically just at check in and at bar, but I did not mind to be left... More

Hmm, what can I say... You pull up and it looks like you're going to a ranch - we genuinely thought we were going to the wrong place. We were met at reception by a snotty woman who told us she wasn't going to walk all the way to our rooms with us. She was right, it was a fairly... More

There has been a significant amount of effort put into the design and layout of the cottages. Quite difficult to fault unless you are of a nervous disposition and feel that a room built into a mountain of boulders is a bit scary ! Only matters that do need attention is the provision of some additional shelter at the pool... More

We arrived there late thanks to Wings over Africa not having an aircraft available for our tour so we missed out on a lot of the activities on offer but the accommodation was unique and like Hobbiton. The sunset and change of light on the rocks were amazing and the staff friendly and fun. Meals varied and enjoyable. The Fish... More

Stayed at Canon lodge for the second time and loved it again! The chalets are beautiful and the food is plentiful! The staff is very friendly (yes you Selma Simaneka) and was very sorry to hear that Yvonne and Hein are leaving the lodge. What a wonderful and sincere power-couple! The gardens of the lodge are beautiful and I can highly recommend... More
