Our 4th visit to Halali and it remains our firm favourite of the four NWR 'resorts' in Etosha. We far prefer this Waterhole although being New Year did create a lot of discarded tins and bottles that revellers were obviously too tired to carry back empty having exhausted themselves carrying them up when full! Disgusting behaviour by a stupid few.... More

Stayed at Halali about a month after the large fires around the area. This we believe is the reason why there was less game around this area than Okaukuejo or Namutoni. The resort itself is very nice with very high standard of the family lodges, secluded waterhole and big pool. Dinner was possibly the best we had in Namibia! Shop... More

I am surprised to read so many negative reviews of Halali. We spent 2 nights recently in the Rhino Honeymoon Suite and loved it! We had just spent 3 nights at Onguma which, while more luxurious, didn't compare in terms of value for money and accessibility to the park. We have been married for 20 years so our perceptions are... The campsite is located 70km from Okaukuejo Camp in Etosha National Park. We had a very good site at a less popular camp ground (compared to Okaukuejo). The amenities were clean & there is a lovely pool & restaurant area. The shop was well stocked. The floodlit waterhole viewing area is a rocky outcrop with quite uncomfortable seating. We opted... I booked 4 of us into 2 honeymoon suites as this was all that was available. Boy what a disappointment. The rooms had no doors to bathrooms - I wasn't aware that on a honeymoon you enjoyed sharing all of your bodily functions with your new partner?? The rooms were scruffy and the floors were dirty. Our front door was... More

Etosha National Park is a wonderful place. Halali in itself is a wonderful spot with a great waterhole but unfortunately I cannot say the same for the management & reception staff at this resort. They have been consistently the worst I have ever had to deal with in many years of international travel. In a nutshell they are arrogant and... More

You pay the same price to stay at Halali as for the other Namibian Wildlife Resorts (NWR) in Etosha, but it's far less quality. The website is a big lie. We had our own little brick house, but it was badly furbished, only one bedlight switch and NO CURTAINS! Everybody can look in your bedroom. They have put up some... More

Even though this place is managed by the NWR, it is a nice place to stay within the boundries of Etosha NP. Don't expect too much in terms of service and hospitality, but you do get a decent room, that was surprisingly nicely decorated, very clean and with a comfortable bed. The included breakfast buffet is average, but sufficient for... More

Having stayed at Namutoni (see review) arriving at Halali was a shock. We stayed in the double rooms. They were small and grim with little room to spread out gear. The building looked liked a barracks. Staff seemed dis-interested. Dinner was expensive. When we asked about a night tour they said return and book it later, when we did it... More

we only stayed one night in a bush chalet. This turned out to be a bungalow type arrangement with a small kitchenette and separate bedroom. This was very comfortable. The site itself feels more like a campsite that either of the other 2 resorts inside Etosha. There is a largish swimming pool. Although the site is quite big, it still... More
