I was visiting a friend for her daughters wedding, they recommended the Hotel Sterling. I was so impressed, it was like a top notch New York Hotel...It was spacious, Clean and just so tastefully decorated. It was comfortable and I love the privacy. at first not having the Hotel staff around was kind of weird, but I must say it... More

Ikea-style remodel, marble flooring, roman shades, comfortable bed. I only have good things to say about this place. Nice in-room fridge stocked with items for a continental-style breakfast, and keurig coffee maker- all included in the price of the room. This is a stellar example of an independent business outperforming chain hotels. I'd definitely recommend this place, and would stay... More

The Hotel Sterling was one the best hotel experiences that I've experienced this year. The concept of the hotel is brilliant. The only issue I had is that my family and I were not able to check into the room that we were initially supposed to have due to a mix up. The property manager was very apologetic and comped... More

I was in town visiting family and it was recommended that I stay at Hotel Sterling, I could not have been more impressed or pleased with the amazing hotel and exceptional room. As soon as we entered the glass front doors into the very inviting lobby I was immediately impressed by the beautiful and tastefully decorated interior. The renovations and... More

My son and I wanted a place to spend the night on our way to the Detroit Auto Show. I read the reviews on Tripadvisor for this hotel, and decided to give it a try. I must say that even the wonderful reviews that I read didn't do this hotel justice. This is a very clean, quite hotel - but... More

We often stay at historic hotels and the Hotel Sterling is one of the best historic building remodels we've ever seen. The rooms are large, comfortable, and wonderfully appointed with lots of extra touches like an in-room refrigerator stocked with soft drinks, fruit, and other breakfast foods along with coffees and teas. The bathrooms, especially the huge walk-in shower, are... More

Great deal! Saw this on "under the radar" on PBS and had to check it out. Bought the night out package which came with a coupon to Monroe Street Grill and 129 Lounge. Both places were awesome. Then saw Alexander Zonjic play across the street. The room couldnt have been better. Spacious, two floors, two flat screens, stocked fridge. What... More

The hotel is very nice. It's contemporary style accents the downtown location and feel. At first I was a little nervous about not having a front desk clerk available at all times, but we were given a passcode to the main door and our keys were waiting on the front desk. The room itself was very clean and cozy. We... More

We were in Michigan for a 12 day road trip, so had one night in Monroe in route to the northern part of the state. We didn't know what to expect, but Hotel Sterling was a lovely find. There isn't an elevator, so if you are in the midst of a long trip and using it as a pass-through, I... More

This is a true find for business travelers. My husband had a business trip to the nuclear plant in the area this past week. Searching online we found the usual options, "The Big Boxes". But this place offered something really unique, a studio home like option. Every picture we viewed online was a perfect match. This owner has it together... More
