This is a classic old hotel which has been lovingly preserved. Really has a good ambience. Beautiful decor. The rooms are classic and comfy. Right on the lake, with some remarkable views. Good restaurant, with good food. Excellent service. Nice folks. Loved the comfortable mattress, plush pillows and chenille bedspreads.

We stayed in the Tavernini Suite and it was amazing! Clean, comfortable, quiet, and the staff is awesome! The food at the Pub and Capers is wonderful as well and Joe's Cakes for dessert was to die for! Would stay here again any time.

This is a wonderful, beautifully renovated historic hotel overlooking Lake Superior. Our room was gorgeously decorated and had a jacuzzi and a fireplace. The bed was very comfortable with quality linens. The 6th floor bar was also nicely furnished and an inviting place for cocktails and appetizers. The food was good, but not great. Would definitely stay here again.
