We went for my wife's birthday. They scheduled a wedding for the same weekend. Noise! Boom box and all. Complaint to the front desk when it went past 11pm went to voice mail. Compaint at check out the next morning got a who cares. Wonder why they could not tell us at the time of our reservation or check in? more

I really wanted to love this place. This historic property has a wonderful lobby, great dining and front porches and Curtis photos. I also loved spending the evening reading and playing games in the lobby , the feel of which harkened back to an earlier era. The long secluded walk to the beach was wonderful and I enjoyed and recommend... more

We've enjoyed LSI almost twice a summer since our first visit in late Sept 1995. Upon arriving, you can't help but feel relaxed. Stayed again middle of August. Great location with beach, quiet surroundings and good food nearby. Wonderful, quiet private beach (if you don't mind many steps down and up) great for morning walks, sunny sandy days, wonderful sunsets... more

My wife and I spent Labor day weekend in 2008. The receptionist wasn't too friendly, I guess a bad day. Our room was super small that appeared to be a closet. I understand this is an old building with all the wooden floors cracking but the mildew was unbearable. Our room smelled like moth balls. It was bad! There were... more

My fiance and I have stayed at this Inn a number of times over the past several years. It is very rustic and historic, with a variety of different size rooms, some with jacuzzi tubs. The hotel is well maintained, and has great appeal for the private beach access across the street. The Inn also offers free bikes and it... more

This inn is definitely not for everyone. My husband and I traveled with 3 other couples, so we got to see 4 very different rooms. The experience was much like staying in great-grandmas old house, only with much more stringent rules. I suppose if you are looking for absolute quiet, you may enjoy this Inn, but the large, open common... more

I can't even believe someone found these rooms acceptable. I am not picky, but come on. Room 13 is so tiny and dark, it reminded me of something out of Stephen King, where the guy goes here to hang himself. Seriously, it is that dreary. I love cottages, old furniture, etc., but some things just are too creepy. Maybe other... more

We stayed in room 10 the bathroom celing had mold on it. the bath tub had mold on it. The sink handles were rusted with green rust. There was endless paint chipping all over the room. There was only one tv in the whole place and you only got three channels. The morning breakfast was way to expensive. The bed... more

My wife and young daughter loved walking along the lake just steps away from the Inn--the weather was unseasonally balmy and we had the beach to ourselves. The innkeepers were friendly and our room had a simple rustic charm... a nice short getaway from the city. more
