My fiancé and I rented unit 212 for three weeks in August 2023. The following are the pros and cons of the place: PROS: - The inn has a central location and it's very close to town. - Staff is friendly and helpful. - Sheets are changed weekly and fresh towels are provided as often as you need it. - The bed (king size) is comfortable. CONS: - The unit is very dated. The bedroom is depressing due to its tiny window, dark walls, and very old light fixtures. The carpet looked terrible. - The unit does not get cleaned during your stay (only sheets, towels are refreshed and garbage is emptied). - The bathroom is also dated with a big tub that normally nobody uses, and a very small shower. - The kitchen is okay if you stay for a only a few days. However, if you chose to stay for a few weeks, the lack of proper utensils (only 3 spoons, no cutting board), and old dishes, make your stay frustrating. - The mattress of the sofa bed is very thin. - The living room is tiny. - The balcony overlooks the busy street, so sitting outside is not necessarily peaceful. - The gym is outdated and there was no A/C. Overall, the unit was way overpriced for what it had to offer. If you stay for only a few nights, it's okay. If you plan to stay longer, not to mention want to invite guests, find another place. We won't return in the future.

It was our first time to Charlevoix and now that we have fallen in love with the town, we’re already planning our next trip back! From the amazing food, extremely friendly atmosphere and the views (which are incredible), you’ll definitely enjoy your stay. We traveled with our pup so having a dog friendly suite at Pointes North Inn was super accommodating. They went above and beyond leaving bowls, treats, and a dog mat for him. We loved having the bedroom upstairs, away from the living room which made it feel bigger. Kitchen was updated and had everything you needed. Perfect patio walkout which lands you right on Main Street/Downtown, with a short walk to the water. Also, down the street within walking distance was a incredible coffee/crepe breakfast place, a few bars, restaurants and grocery store. Also, the manager at Pointes North Inn immediately made you feel like home as you walked into the lobby. We cannot wait to come back with our pup for another trip!

The place itself is nice. My review at this condo is about the host experience when booking this place. Beware!!! If you are booking this location and the condo is privately owned or you booked through a popular hosting platform, be sure to read the reviews before you book. There was no toilet paper , we had to use paper towel. And there was black mold shooting out of the broken jets to boot. We arrived late that night and just found paper towel and dealt with it. Upon asking for a refund on the $89 steep cleaning fee, they rejected my request telling me I should have called them about the issue when it happened. There would have been no issue if they honored what they were selling . Highly disappointed. This is why I left a negative review.

Ask if they have units updated in the last 20+ years. Our unit was VERY old...old, dirty fabric furniture, dusty dried flowers and greens and ancient furnishings. There was no kitchen/dining table to play cards n games...just a small coffee table. Noticed they were pet friendly which might explain a lot as the guests checking in ahead of us had two large dogs. I really don’t want to lounge on couches and chairs that pets have been on. The lobby closed at 6 pm so we couldn’t even use the tables there to play cards and the pool closed at 6 pm also. Luckily, the beds were comfy and the location to downtown was amazing. The morning we checked out, the parking lot was a glare of ice at 10:30 am with no attempt made to salt it. Manager told me that they don’t like to get salt on guests cars. Wow. Think twice before you book here.

This hotel features nice large suites with a living room/kitchen, separate bedroom and separate bathroom. There was even a screen porch off the living room which would have been nice to sit on if it had actually been warm enough when I stayed. The hotel is very close to the road, but the door to the porch blocked out most of the road noise. The bedroom is nicely located away from the road, so there’s no traffic noise while trying to sleep. There was a strange dripping noise however. I checked all of our faucets and none of them were dripping

My husband and I stayed one night. Condo style hotel. One bedroom, kitchen, living room with electric fireplace. Clean room, king size bed very comfortable. Some living room furniture was thread bare and needs to be replaced. Screened patio is a nice addition but needs a good cleaning. All one bedroom units are about 2 feet below street level which made it a bit noisy on the porch. Room smelled of moth balls that was mentioned in a trip advisor review 4 months ago which is unfortunate. Don’t miss the Mushroom house tour. Whole neighborhood of hobbit style houses. Charlevoix is a cute town that is easy to get around and a must see if you are in the area.

Dear lovetheoutdoors061, I am glad that you enjoy the room and took time to leave a review! I will make sure to assess the condition of the furniture in the suite and will suggest replacement as necessary. The screened in patios do experience some road noise, however our location to the downtown area surely makes up for it. The 'moth ball' smell is something that we are still running into in that unit. Some don't notice the smell at all, while others say it's very prominent. I'm sorry that you fell into the latter category and I dearly hope you will visit us again in the future.

First time staying here and we will be back. Really appreciate that pets are allowed. As our dog is getting up in years we find it’s less stressful if we bring her along and it was a relief to find such a nice place to stay that allows pets. Great experience with everything. Staff, location, room, pool and fitness room were all wonderful. We had the pleasure of staying here four nights and loved every minute.

The location and patio are great. Cute furnishings. They allow pets with a small deposit. They are remodeling but noise was minimal and workers were polite. We stayed in 110. It definitely needs updating. It was very dusty, maybe it hadn't been rented in awhile. Some of the dishes were dirty but put away. The staff does not wash dishes during your stay. The extra blanket had cigarette holes in it. Reception and pool closes early (6pm). We ran out of toilet paper and lightbulbs blew and we had to figure it out on our own. We also didn't have a telephone (they weren't sure where they were kept) and the room got no service on cell phones but there is Wi-Fi. The upside is the let us have our pets & the fridge & fireplace. They should adjust price on this room.

Dear trvlnV, Thank you for the review, we appreciate the feedback! We enjoyed having you and your pet with us. I am sorry that you felt the room was not up to Pointes North standards. We pride ourselves on our housekeeping team and I will look into the cleanliness issue. All of our rooms are individually owned and the furnishings are the chosen by the owner. That particular unit does not have a phone due to an issue with the wiring. With the popularity of cell phones, it has never been an issue. Thank you for bringing the aforementioned items to my attention and I hope that we see you and your four-legged family member soon!

love the location of this hotel. Can't beat it. Have stayed 3 times. Wish they had full size refrigerators. A bit noisy from the street traffic, but since it is on the main drag, that is to be expected. Staff is wonderful and we love Charlevoix. This stay we were there for a week in a one bedroom on the main floor. Will certainly be back
