My wife and I recently spent a weekend at this lovely inn. The rooms were immaculate, well appointed and very comfortable, with comfy beds, clean bathroom, and modern amenities including flat screen TV and coffemaker. The food in both the dining room and the tavern was excellent, and the on- site bakery produced fantastic rolls, muffins, danish, etc. More

Loud parties will keep you up all night. No reimbursement for inconvenience. Service is very slow to non existent. I had a problem every night for the week I stayed there. Room service during day something was forgotten each time. Store for drinks and other night time snacks closes early. Rooms were awkward. Some having no closet. More

Our antique car club hosted a weekend at the Publick House just after the big snow storm in October. The staff was extremely helpful at every point, from booking, to answering questions, to reassuring us that they'd be ready for us despite the power outage - and they were! We stayed in the travel lodge and the rooms weren't fancy,... More

We were without power due to an ice and snow storm. After 2 nights in a freezing house I decided to look for a hotel. The Publick House had just reopened after being out of power itself. They said that they were running on a generator and although it wouldn't be "warm", it would be more comfortable then the temps... More

I love staying at this place. If you want all-the-frills, B&B-type rooms, they have them. If you want an economical rate, you can stay at the motor lodge. I choose the motor lodge. If you want Hilton-like amenities, don't stay here. The floors squeak, there are no coffee makers, and the furniture is old. But, it's cool. For around $60,... More

We spent a night a the travel lodge for a wedding this past weekend, the main inn was fully booked. Paint and wallpaper was peeling and the p;ace should be completely gutted and redone. Everything about the room was a turn off......the bed, the linens ......old and depressing room. We paid $159.00 for the night, it was like a $45.00... More

We stayed at the publick house for a conference I was attending in Sturbridge. The staff was gracious and gave me a special rate for business travel. We stayed in room 4 which is really neat with the crooked floor and old beams. The floors are a little skeaky but hey it adds to the historic feeling. The restaurant was... More

Stayed in the Motor Lodge during recent trip to Old Sturbridge Village. Hotel is divided into three sections: Main Inn (where front desk is), Chamberlain House (nearby converted historic home) and the Motor Lodge. Our room in the Lodge was very dirty; I wore my shoes between the bed and shower. Stained furniture, crumbling bathroom, and dirty outdoor carpeting clinched... More

We stayed in the main (historic inn), had dinner in the dining room and a drink in the Tavern. I was disappointed that the inn was not better maintained. The upholstery on chairs in the main areas on the first floor and in the Tavern was worn, soiled and the arm on a couch we sat on in the Tavern... More

Stayed one night at the Motor Lodge. It had perhaps the most uncomfortable mattress- one that was clearly decades old- I have ever slept on in a hotel. At one point, I contemplated sleeping in my car. On a happier note, the restaurant at this property is amazing! More
