I've stayed at the Chocksett Inn at least a dozen times. I grew up in Sterling and return every year for the holidays. And every year I face the same dilemma, where to stay? This Inn is great for weddings...we stayed there for a friend's ceremony and reception, and the wedding services are great. But the rooms at the Inn are nothing special--nothing cute, and the pull-out couches (which the Inn seems to count as legitimate second beds!) are horribly uncomfortable. Valentine'S Day dinner with another couple was horrible. Two hours to receive meal and without appetizers, drinks, dessert the bill was $200. Complaint to manager went unheeded. Follow-up letter unanswered. Waitress basically gave up around 9 pm and said the kitchen could not handle the 14 people in the dining room.
