“Hidden Fees made this suck”

After being told the room rate was $149 a night we arrived and there were additional "booking fees" of $5 and $8.50. Nobody likes these kind of surprises. The room was so-so. No view at all. The Cape Hedge Inn does not charge booking fees. This traveler made his reservation online through a 3rd party site such as Expedia which charges an $8.50 booking fee which is disclosed at the time of booking. Had the best stay ever at this Inn! The room was clean, the inn was quiet and its in a quiet spot as well away from all the bustle in the center of Rockport. The staff was extremely kind and helpful and I also found this hotel to be very affordable especially being located in such a touristy type town.... More

It looks like they have tried to update this motor inn, no way is it an INN. However new bedspreads and curtins do not hide a black mold ceiling in the shower, peeling wall paper in guest rooms and baths. Very thin walls, so thin they ask you to turn your tv down after 9. The management wholly disagrees with these statements. We are highly regulated by the Board of Health and they would not allow these conditions to exist. Not sure of reviewers motives. More

“good-sized rooms and helpful staff”

We chose this hotel because it could accomodate our family of 5. When we booked the room we were told we'd have a rollaway for the 5th person, but it wasn't there. The woman at the desk was very helpful and found us a rollaway. We set it up, and even with it set up the room was not crowded.... More

“Kid Friendly, Comfortable, Good Location, Great Value”

We recently stayed at the Cape Hedge Inn for the weekend. We found it to be a good value, clean, and with an indoor pool. It was very kid friendly and close to the beach! Friendly, and helpful staff directed us to great restaurants downtown about a mile and a half away. Would definitely stay there again!

Let me preface this by saying that when we travel, we're on the go... so we're not in the room much. Basically, we just need a clean room with a decent bed and bathroom. Stayed here many summers. This Inn is in great area and overall, a good value. Only complaint was that towels were very cheap and stiff. Needed fabric softener big time.
