My husband surprised me with a night in the Hotel Northampton and it was a pleasant treat. The common areas are beautiful, especially the sun porch along the front of the building. Fantastic location within an easy walk of boutiques and restaurants. My only complaint is that the breakfast could have had more options.

Thank you for staying with us! I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your time at our hotel during your surprise visit! Our large balcony rooms overlooking King St. and downtown Northampton are certainly the best place in town to enjoy a glas of wine! Thank you for your comments, we'll be sure to share them with all of... More

Rooms are well appointed at this historic landmark, and onsite restaurants are very good. Service is professional and hospitable. Northampton is a wonderful little town, lending a favorable ambience to a weekend stay. I rate this hotel "Average" because it seems unable to properly accommodate its overnight guests and maintain its ambience when onsite functions are taking place. During our... More

Hello and thank you for your review! We very much appreciate your business on your recent stay. It is certainly our goal to accomodate all of our guests to the very best possible standard. It sounds as if on this evening which we had exceptionally high demand, perhaps the needs of our other guess may have conflicted in some ways... More

Hotel Northampton does many things right. The staff are welcoming and gracious, the original building is beautiful and decorates in a way that shares its past. The Cafe and Pub offer convenient quality. The rooms in the newer portion of the building are enormous and decorated in a way that is consistent with the rest of the hotel. The free... More

Thank you for your review of our hotel! We are so happy for the great comments which you've shared regarding our hotel. Also, thank you for mentioning the air fragrance which we use in the property. We do use a light fragrance which does agree with most people. We do however realize that not everyone has the same preferences. Please... More

I find the Hotel Northampton to be hit or miss. This time it was more hit, but I still find it to be overpriced for what it's worth. I chose a room with a private balcony overlooking Coolidge Park and King Street. When I checked into my room, it was at the top of the stairs from the restaurant and... More

The Hotel Northampton is an older building with relatively small rooms, but once you get past those factors you’ll find that it’s a classy place. First of all, the hotel is right in the middle of town. Everything is within walking distance (the Calvin theatre is literally across the street). If you do need your car, the hotel also provides... I was so excited to get a 2 day job in Northampton because now I could afford to stay at the famous Hotel Northampton, and, I could bring my husband and show him around my old stomping grounds (UMass '83). It is worth a stay to see the history in the hotel and to see the Tavern. The room was... More

My wife an I treated ourselves to an overnighter at the Hotel Northamton in the heart of Northhampton , Ma, the home of beautiful Smith College. We ate Saturday lunch at the totally windowed bar in the cafe, dinner in the historic Wiggins Tavern (in the Inn) by the fireplace, and feasted on their Sunday brunch, a true food lovers... More

I have stayed at the Hotel Northampton many times over the years, and my experience has always been excellent, and my recent visit was no exception. The desk staff were extremely helpful with one of the clerks even running to the deli next door to get a NY Times when the desk's collection of them had run out. The room... More

We've stayed at the Hotel Northampton 5 or 6 times over the past few years when we visit our daughter at nearby Mt. Holyoke College. We love the location because you can walk to lots of great restaurants, cafes, shops, music, etc. The hotel is very good with a cozy lobby and fireplace, very nice in the winter. The rooms... More

From the moment you walk through the doors, the hotel transports you back into a time when attention to detail and enduring craftsmanship were the norm. Checking in, we noticed the lobby was classically decorated in oak and brass, with antique (but not old looking) wall hangings. It was complimented nicely with plants near the front, so as to not...
