Horizons Beach Resort offers enjoyment and tranquility for your Cape Cod vacation. All accommodations feature kitchens, air conditioning and cable televisions. Select from units with sliders opening to sun decks overlooking Cape Cod Bay, or corner rooms with picture windows and spectacular water views. Relax on 500 feet of private beach or swim in the bayside outdoor pool. Rates for every budget!
The comfortable “studio apartment” unit was on the second floor of the Terrace Dunes building (across from the private beach and pool). Since that building is built into a small hill, the “luggage drop off” spot at back is level with the second floor. This is great because there are no stairs to have to reach the room with my luggage. The unit had everything; a fully equipped kitchen area with a table and four chairs, a king size bed and loveseat with a pullout double bed, and sitting area with a flat screen tv and free reliable internet access. The beach is wonderfully quiet and beautiful with amazing sunsets that you can see from your front balcony. The beach is bayside, so there is no undertow. You can walk for quite a distance in either direction, along the peaceful, shimmering water’s edge. We took groceries with us, including a cooler with frozen and fresh food. I hate food shopping on vacation. Since you have a full stove and microwave, along with a studio- apartment size fridge, you only have to dine out if you feel like it. There’s a shuttle that stops out front during the warm weather season; and it stops everywhere, including Provincetown center, Stop ‘n Shop food market, and ocean beach areas. You can ask them to let you off at a mid- point area if you wish. The internet, cooking area and the quiet beach were my top priorities. You can have all the free fancy welcome baskets, chocolates on your pillow, and onsite dining, but I would rather have a bit of “Old Cape Cod”.…

I was very skeptical to stay here because it’s a bit rustic and I always stay in upscale hotels (not motels). BUT… everything was great! It was clean, the staff was nice, and the location across the street from the beach and pool is fantastic. We caught the bus to Provincetown right at the motel, which was also a perk. The TV remote was a little finicky but I didn’t care enough to ask the front desk. Although the rooms are rustic with a 70s kitchenette and it’s not fancy, it’s a great value for your money in a great location! You can’t beat the bay with gentle waves and an 8 minute drive to Provincetown.

Love the location here… right across the road from the bay which you can see from the private balcony, or a quick 5 minute drive to the outer beaches. Also a quick drive or bike ride up to bustling and fun Provincetown! The small, but well equipped unit has everything you’ll need for a beach getaway for a couple. No frills, but clean. If you need anything, you can ask for it at the office. All the staff we’ve encountered are extremely friendly and always asking if we need anything. We want to come here every year!

Horizon Beach/Terrace Dunes is a great, low key resort. There are no amenities other than the beach. There's ample free parking and you'll need a car or bicycle because it's four miles to Provincetown where you'll be spending your non beach time. We were there during the off season, so driving and parking were easy. During the tourist season, driving in Provincetown is a nightmare and parking is expensive, so take that into consideration. The unit at Terrace Dunes is a motel room type efficiency. Upon entering, there's a small closet and the bathroom sink on one side and the water closet with tub and toilet on the other. Entering the living area, we had a queen bed and a queen pullout sofa on one side and a credenza across from it with a TV on the wall above that The far end of the room had a round table for four people on one side and a tiny but full kitchen on the other. There's a sliding door out onto a nicely sized deck/balcony. Terrace Dunes is on the hill, across the road from the beach. We were on the second floor, so had a view of the bay that was partially blocked by the Horizon Beach building. Units in the third floor have much better, unobstructed views but also have to go up a flight of steps to get to their units. The building is built into the hill, so there are no steps to enter the second floor units from the back, though one must park in front and either climb steps or walk up the driveway to get to the back. There are two parking spaces on grade behind the building but they are for loading and unloading only.…

We loved the location on the outer Cape. Sure we did a bit more driving (300 miles during the week!) but the remoteness was worth it. Just to clarify, the time share units are not beachfront nor beach view. They are ocean view (at least from the 3rd floor units). Nevertheless, we would return.

Room had two queen beds, has wifi, kitchen with the essentials (dishes, utensils, etc.) and a coffee maker (a must for me...lol). The rooms were clean. The staff is very attentive and friendly and do a great job cleaning. Can't beat the views. Beautiful sunsets and we could see the seals on the sandbar from our deck.

This was our third year staying at the resort, the second in a beachfront room. Nothing better than opening the curtains in the morning to look out on the bay and the private beach. If you leave the sliders open at night, you can be lulled to sleep by the sound of the water lapping the shore. There are a couple of places to eat or buy supplies within a half mile, and P'town is a quick ride (there is an available shuttle). We were fortunate to have great weather all week and chose not to venture from the environs all that much. Reading and relaxing on the beach or the deck were the order of the day most days. We are already looking forward to August, 2023!

We stayed in the Terrace Dunes building which is across the road from the beach. The room was small but well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We were on the top floor and had a beautiful view of Cape Cod. There were about 10 steps up to our floor. We had a king bed which was very comfortable. Our room was extremely clean and the kitchen was stocked with plates, cutlery and pots and pans. The owner Jim was very polite and helpful. We would have preferred to stay across the road right on the beach. Next time!

The Terrace Dunes is part of the Horizon Beach Resort complex. The Horizon Beach buildings sit directly at the edge of the beach and are newer. The older Terrace Dunes building sits across the street up on a hill. Even though it sits across the street, the Terrace Dunes offers plenty of excellent views of Cape Cod Bay and Provincetown across the bay from the balconies (You can see the water to the horizon over and between the buildings across the street. And the way it is situated, provides a wonderful view of the sun setting over P-Town.). There's plenty of free parking. The units are quite modest, with minimal amenities. Make sure you bring your own pool and beach towels, as well as salt & pepper, napkins, and wine glasses. Everything else is provided. The units have a full kitchen, with a ¾ refrigerator and a 4-burner stove and oven. There's also a drip coffee maker, but no starter/welcome kit. There's no pen and paper, or area welcome information. Do your own research. Each unit is configured individually, so some might have two Queens and a small sofa, or one Queen and a large sofabed. The room is largely carpeted, and it's clean. There's a HD TV and HD cable. That's nice. The pool is not heated, which means that along with the cool, 50 degree nights of October come pool water temperatures in the 50s as well. I tried going in and it only resorted in numbness. The bay water was less cold. I wish they would heat the pool just a little bit, but no. It's essentially useless in the Fall. All in all, North Truro feels like old Cape Cod. It's a relatively narrow strip of land, close to the water. You can smell and feel the water. None of the Provincetown timeshare properties are walkable to downtown anyway. You might as well stay in North Truro if you're going to use this as a timeshare exchange. It's about a 7 minute drive to downtown P-Town, and about a 20 minute bike. The resort does rent these units out on a nightly/weekly basis directly via the phone. Half of the units are owned by the resort manager. The others are owned by individual owners, who all own nine weeks at a time, and they rent their units out themselves. As they get more value from renting a Summer week they don't want to use, you'll likely only find Fall weeks available for an RCI exchange. It's a sweet spot. …

This resort used to be sorta dirty and low class but charming. The owner is mean and unhelpful. I can no longer recommend staying here. Expect a very old, dirty, smelly experience. This resort is definitely a one star or less.
