The Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) is a school first and foremost, and the conference center supports that function. My guess is the schools surplus capability is used to provide space for conferences and their attendees. I recently stayed here on work and have come accustom to being put in the lowest standard of hotels but this place took the cake. The bathrooms are so small the doors rub the toilet seat leavings jagged edge and the toilet paper hangs on the back of the door. The shower took an actual five minutes to get hot.... More

Hotel: Drab, dark, depressing. In dire need of remodeling. Rooms are clean, but very institutional-looking and -feeling. Old, 1970s-looking closed circuit TV cameras throughout the hallways. Cafeteria: Hit and miss. Usually not but not great. Dining room is dark and sad.

The organization I work for uses this for conferences on a regular basis and I have come to really look forward to coming here. The rooms are comfortable, although the televisions are out of date.
