The Stonebow is owned and operated by a creative and friendly couple named Julyien and Cathy. At their hands the Stonebow is a charming place on the Casselman River away from the families and crowds of Deep Creek Lake- after all you go out there to escape those things. The Inn is clean and private with just a few rooms.... more

My wife and I have been coming to Stonebow since they opened in October 2004. We visit an average of four times a year. Stonebow is about relaxing. Nestled in the foothills of the Cumberlands Stonebow is bordered by a babiling river on one side and a hisotric arts village on the other. My wife and I visit an average... more

My husband and I go to Grantsville, MD every year for a family reunion. We usually stay at the Comfort Inn but the quality has been going downhill. After reading reviews for the Stonebow Inn we decided to give it a try. We were so happy we did. The place is kept extremely clean and the innkeepers, Cathy and Juleyn,... more

My wife and I took our first trip out here roughly two years ago and were absolutely blown away. In fact, we loved the experience so much, we decided to get married out there! We got married in the church next door, which was built somewhere in the mid 1850's, and put our family up in the bed and breakfast.... more

We stayed one night in the Blue Heron Cottage, and loved the accommodations, beautiful setting and Julyen's breakfast the next morning. Julyen also recommended an Italian restaurant in nearby Frostburg, Guiseppe's, which while somewhat noisy that night certainly had excellent food. We hope to stay with Julyen and Cathy again someday. Even the local cats were friendly! more

We couldn't have picked a better place to come for our anniversary and three days of R&R. Cathy and Julyen are perfect hosts: Personable, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming! The inn itself consists of four buildings: Two are single unit cottages while the other two have several rooms. I peeked in on all of the rooms except for two and they... more

Our Christmas at the Stonebow Inn was truly merry because Cathy and Julyen are such fine hosts, innkeepers and gourmet cooks. The rooms and public spaces are all most attractive without being "cutesy," and the many amenities include a terrific library of books and video tapes. Our Christmas Eve dinner, dinner on Christmas day, and two breakfats were really memorable,... more

My husband and I had a very enjoyable time while staying at the Elliott Inn. The location is great and the house is absolutely beautiful and very clean. Cathy is a very good hostess and I can't begin to say enough good things about Julyen's cooking. Everything he cooked was exceptional and prepared with excellence. If we visit this area... more

I had the privilege of staying at The Elliott House last October with my girlfriend. We stayed in one of the cottages and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The food was great, the surroundings were peaceful and it is within easy access to Deep Creek Lake and many National Parks. The cottage was very clean and charming and was exactly what we... more

Julyen & Cathy are wonderful hosts. The Inn itself is beautiful, the setting is perfectly situated in a remote location just a short drive outside of the Washington, DC area where we're from. We stayed for New Year's this year and enjoyed every moment. The food and hospitality are tremendous and we'll be going back again soon! more
