The food was good and the location was great. The snowmobile trails were very impressive from Jackman to Pittston Farms. Thank you to Pittston Farms for grooming their trail system so we can visit. The food was tasty but pricey, but we understand being so far away from everything. You must try the onion rings though, they are hand battered... More

This is a review for their restaurant. We were snowmobiling iin Jackman and we took a trip there. Their chili was great! Everything was cooked as you ordered, so if you don't mind waiting for fresh food, this is a great place to get gas for the snowmobile and your tummy. Friendly people and a great trail for snowmobiling trip.... More

you will need a front end alignment on your car after the drive in, 20 miles down a rough dirt road not for the bikes or cars, 4x4s and atvs may fare better. the service was okay the food homemade, excellent bread and corn bread. good portions for the meals. it is like a hunting lodge so the settings seem... They appear to cater for the snowmobile and hunting crowd. Rooms were $250 in the dead off season. $100 per night would have been more appropriate... with a ten room shared bath. The rooms did come with all meals but the food didn't come near making up the difference. More like summer camp for kids. Probably not for the discerning... More

We drove 8 hours to get to what we thought would be a quaint bed and breakfast in a farm setting, only to find that it is more of a rough and tumble hunting lodge than anything else. We didn't like our dark tiny motel-style room in the "Carriage House", so we asked for a cabin. Once in the cabin,... More

If you're looking to get away from the hub-bub of everyday life, eat good rustic food (and the best pizza I've ever had - and I've had many kinds), make easy friends with the family that owns it and just have quiet time - this is the place for you. The room we stayed in was small, but sufficient as... More

This is a fabulous location but it looks like the owners have lost interest in keeping maintaining the place. When we arrived, outdoor rubbish cans were overflowing and were not emptied during our three day stay. Rooms were not clean, bed sheets were such poor quality they didn't stay in place - every time we turned over, the sheets came... More

My brother, my best friend and I lodged at Pittston Farm during last years big game hunt. The hospitality was incredible and this includes not only the owners but the staff as well. We stayed in a comfortable cabin, with hot showers and amenities. The food was advertised, "Lumberjack" meaning all you can eat. It was wholesome and delicious, including... More

If you want to get away from the hubbub and hustle of the common tourist venue, go to Pittston Farm just past 20 mile gate in the Moosehead Wilderness Area (Rockwood, Maine). Pittston Farm was once a logging facility and turned into an upscale lodge by Ken Twitchell. Food is lumberjack fare - hearty and plenty of it. The scenery... More
