My husband and I spent two nights at the Mill Pond Inn along with another couple -- all arranged to coincide with the annual running of the alewife up the Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder, which occurs each May. The alewife are fish that return upriver to their birthplace to spawn, and the local community has restored a beautifully artistic fish... More

We have been staying with Bobby and Sherry every summer for almost 20 years. We ADORE them, their hospitality, their home, and the area. My blood pressure goes down several notches as soon as we cross the threshold! If you want large walk-in showers, a jacuzzi, room service, and full-serve menus, B&Bs are not for you, you might want to... More

My wife and I reserved a double room in the Mill Pond Inn to stay overnight on our way to a week-long family vacation off the coast near Port Clyde in August 2010. We really didn't expect much since it was just a stop on the way to the main event. Bobby and Sherry were welcoming if a bit quirky,... More

Stayed two nights with Bobby & Sherry, end Sept. 2011 - and we wished it could have been more. Lovely hosts who like to talk and listen if you do, comfortable room, enjoyable wholesome breakfasts cooked fresh by Bobby and bonus glasses of wine after a day out. We spent some time at Pemaquid and also took a house canoe... More

You can count on a warm welcome and cozy, comfortable accommodations at this charming Inn. Breakfasts overlooking the picturesque mill pond are expertly prepared and accompanied by Bobby's entertaining stories. We have returned year after year and always enjoy access to the canoes so that we can soak in the beauty of Damariscotta Lake. When we are ready to explore... More

Bobby and Sherry Whear welcomed us as old friends and their knowledge of local lore and places to eat and visit made our visit to Damariscotta especially memorable. His blueberry pancakes are excellent and the breakfast conversation is just as good. Paddling the canoe around Damariscotta Lake is a great way to appreciate the tranquillity of this delightful setting. Afternoon... More

After losing my husband following 45 years of marriage, I decided I needed to recharge my batteries. No better place for serenity and shellfish than the Mill Pond Inn, in Nobleboro, Maine. Sherry and Bobby Whear, the innkeepers, took me under their wings. You can do as much or as little as you please here, and I choose to spend... More

We went with friends of ours and our three 11 year old girls. The girls loved it from the moment they got out of the car. Bobby (one of the owners) was hosting a cannonball contest at the bridge adjacent to the property, and the trip started with the girls jumping into the lake fully clothed! Eventually we got into... We went to Damariscotta Lake to pick up our boys from the wonderful Camp Kieve. We stayed at the Mill Pond Inn as it's a recommended accommodation on the camp's website. We stayed the night before we picked them up and had a nice, peaceful evening. We had the boys with us in the Inn the next night. We were... More

My wife and I have been staying at the Mill Pond Inn for years, so I am way overdue in reviewing one of our very favorite places to go. The Mill Pond is owned and run by Bobby and Sherry, and they are great hosts. Just about anything you have questions about, concerning the area, or need, thay are happy... More
